❤ please can you let me know what stitch length , width and tension for stitching quilting squares together (not the quilting part) ?? The fabric is cotton but a cheap thin cotton. Do I also use a thin needle ?

Hello, you'd need a 70/10 needle and a stitch length of 2.0. You tension should be set at the 'normal' for your machine (see this vid here to find out what that is: kzitem.info/news/bejne/xXyiynl5oWiiqpg ). Stitch width depends on the type of machine you have. You're after a quarter inch seam so it may be best to get a quarter inch foot for your machine, then have your needle set in its default position. It's not very easy for me to tell you the stitch width without knowing your machine because it depends where your machine defaults to: it will either be 0.0 or 3.5. With a straight stitch (which is what you will be doing), you generally do not need to adjust your stitch width. However, your stitch width adjustment will move your needle, so - if you haven't got a quarter inch foot - experiment with adjusting your stitch width dial or button..watch the needle position...then measure the distance between the needle and the edge of your foot. When you have found a quarter inch measurement, then that will be where your stitch width needs to be set at in the future. Hope that helps 🙂 Kim x
