The modeling industry in general seems to be filled with Muloch. Not just from the abusiveness of the men and women who have power over young women but also the main goal of modeling is to use sexuality (primarily in the feminine form) to extract money from society... both men and women who either desire that sexuality or want to be at that level of sexual attractiveness. It's an industry that mostly functions off of primal animal desires and also jealousy.

mostly of women's insecurity and competition. most men don't actually find professional models that good looking because they're too thin. it's the same thing for male-oriented content, the guys in it are always super muscular because the audience is male, women don't actually find it that attractive.

The idea that the simulation theory is a "creation myth for science nerds" seems apt and okay to me. But there's a big difference in application that's a really good difference. The nerds never presume to understand, describe, or predict anything at all that the simulator/s are trying to do. They never, to my knowledge, get into the weeds of why the simulation have been built as if they actually KNOW why. The simulation theory doesn't serve as a grand narrative for what is true, good, and beautiful. Because of this, nobody goes to prison or get's burned at the stake because of the simulation theory and it's proponents. People don't weaponize the simulation theory. Thinkers in the "Liminal Web" spaces seem to be putting a lot of thought into how to create a new "Grand Narrative" for civilization that doesn't work as a weapon. Vervaeke is a great example of this. But I don't know, y'all. I see a legit concern, but I want more.

True, but the human mind always goes back to the same patterns. In time people will be burned at the stake because they believe in a different version of the simulation theory. And don't even start me on the Fermi Paradox and it's infinite possible solutions, of which exactly none is actually satisfying.

Also it would not really answer where the simulators come from. I think it's mostly an exercise in humility that this could in theory be true, without any magic involved, and we would still be too limited to know.

I found the discussion on atheism and the supernatural to be somewhat frustrating. There were lots of concepts which were muddled together. It might have been helpful to include key concepts (or at least point out the differences) e.g. of Naturalism 45:37 , Materialism 47:13 and Truth 47:56 . (Note I'm not saying these ideas were intended, just that they were vaguely alluded to). There didn't seem to be a solid grasp of what Atheist or Agnostic means, which lead to implying inaccurate statements. On a separate note, I think the point raised at 48:37 is a doorway to an interesting idea around the place that useful beliefs have. Would be interesting to hear more of Liv's views on the topic of faith. Final note, (Just so this comment doesn't seem to negative) I am a fan of your work and have been working my way through your videos.

It is beyond refreshing to see the younger generations digging below the greenwashing of energy and realizing the EROEI of nuclear is probably the only sane answer given current technology, resource availability and current/forecasted demands.

Faith performs function as an existential coping mechanism. It has great value but should be understood why all religions have it. The particular religion is not important, the faith is a fundamental human trait and necessity for progress.

47:18 I wonder what R Dawkins would say about this idea that you get increasingly humble with age and therefore more open to religious ideas Despite his public image he is quite humble as a person, he's just clear. He's clear when it comes to things that we have discovered and our degree of confidence. Simple clarity can sometimes be mistaken for arrogance

There is also frankly so much magic and wonder in the real universe. The idea that a scientific worldview is clinical or empty is BS. We can embrace the magic of a Carl Sagan type universe

26:55 No. They know when a girl has been conditioned out of her natural ability to self determine. Many people, it seems tend to relish the smell of fear, entrapment, and the slow dismantling of a golden child's success. Not because she is a person, but because of those who achieved success from her as a brand and chattel. 59:36 Look. That is a terrible approach to promoting topics that are a real concern for the planet. It further misleads a popular trend culture into a shallow version of the deeper and more complex issues surrounding climate change. 1:02:25 this is NOT how the art of activism begins! "because it's a cultural importance", "turning the historic stance into a COOL symbolic moment to flip", if 100% clean then you should drink it, bathe with it, breathe it, raise your own children with it and grow your food next door to it. 1:10:25 I feel like Roseanne needs to take this one. What the?!...Rubbish, this is how to paint pickets, chant in unison and role play in costume for attention in masses not because they are informed about the subject. 1:13:33 that logic is backwards asf. 1:15:00 "saying more radical things on social media" 🤔 to an algorithm, to a handler, to a lever ...to who? 1:16:28 social media and "ideas activism"?? this is still called troll (train roll). "Observer"?? this is the audience or viewers. Only researchers and scientists do observation. 1:17:25 the beast of activism is ...you "have" to go into communities, you "have" to befriend people, you "have" to form alliances. No experience required, full training provided. 1:23:57 wait up... I hear from the very beginning of your modelling career, a confirmation and validation opponent processing situation whereby the real world and social media world are in constant war with each other. One does not flow through the other and the order of primary attention probably needs to be better understood and studied.
