If I've heard correctly wasn't this like the first Disco hit, wasn't it?......I remember a documentary about Disco and I remember this song being a big deal because it was the drummer that came up with what they called the 4 on the Floor drum beat, which was for 4 beats per measure with the base drum (the floor pedal) drum and prior to that almost every song was beats on 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 ...but that 4 on the floor was 1 2 3 and 4, and that really became what made disco distinct from RnB was that 4 beats per measure.
@androlibre9661

I just went down a mini youtube rabbit hole because I couldnt remember exactly, but this wasn't the first Disco hit but the drummer's for the Tramp's name is Earl Young, and he is credited for inventing the four on the floor beat pattern (as it was used in Disco), and there's a clip on KZitem "Earl Young Explains his Revolutionary Disco Beat" and the man himself explains it.....and damn what that man can do with a set of drums

This song is definitely in the top 3 of best disco songs ever made. Other songs you can react to from this genre are GEORGECMCCRAE with ROCK YOUR BABY. This song is thought of as the first true disco hit that introduced the world to the genre. Then you have the song DON’T LEAVE ME THIS WAY. This was originally sung by HAROLD MELVIN AND THE BLUE NOTES but I prefer the version by THE COMMUNARDS as you get a great dance track which is a bit more 80’s. Then there’s EDWIN STARR who had several great songs WAR, CONTACT and THATS THE WAY. Finally one of the best is AMII STEWART with KNOCK ON WOOD.

I’m thinking, man they are really digging the music. Turns out they’d been trying to get my attention 😂. There was a candle on the table that caught my table on fire. I hurried and put the fire out, and what did I drop next?! You got it: Disco Inferno. The crowd went wild. Wild! And we partied for a few more hours non-stop until everyone was exhausted. Disco was about SO much more than just great music. It was about celebration... And it brought EVERYONE together. We had just come out of a long war which, arguably, we shouldn't have ever entered. People everywhere were exhausted and hurting from seeing so much destruction and misery brought into our homes, in full color, for FAR too long... And from fighting the powermongers to end it and bring the boys home in something other than bodybags. It was a time to reunite, grieve our losses and heal our wounds... And then PARTY until after dawn at every opportunity. Never was the nightclub scene so big or so awesome as those disco-era years. What a time to be young! 🫶🤟

I was a little kid in the 70’s but my parents were young parents. When this song was big my parents were 28 and 29 years old and they loved music and dancing. Every Saturday night they would go out dancing and all day on Saturdays they would blast our stereo all day with all kinds of great music, including this song! Hearing it takes me right back to some great childhood memories! It was a magical time to be alive. So we’re the 80’s when I was a teenager. Kids today don’t have it as good as we did back then. Innocent and free with no fear that our antics could become international fodder on the internet. Just good times and so many amazing memories.

This and Funkytown are my favorite mainstream dance songs of the era. Too bad I had to wait 30+ years to appreciate it as a hardcore metal head in the 80's.

One of the great songs of the time. Love it! We weren't just dancing to the song..we were also singing it out...burning that motha' dooowwn. Even if you had nobody to dance with, you couldn't resist getting out on the floor and boogey down. Love you guys! Glad you enjoy it as much as I do.

I was born in 1970. I can personally testify, Disco Inferno is thee definition of 1970s disco music iconography. I recall hearing it playing on the radio when i was a child. Iconic AF. Madonna features that song in her Confessions Tour Live concert. It sounds EPIC there.

When I walked into the disco with my white shoes, my red, white, and blue pinstriped high waisted bell bottoms, and my white silk shirt with the top 3 buttons undone and my gold coke spoon and chain around my neck.....it was party time!😂🤣💯❤️✌️

A year after "Saturday Night Fever" came out in 19787 another Disco themed movie, "Thank God It's Friday" came out. Donna Summer was in that movie as well but tons of other Disco songs featured as well. Back up to 1976 and the movie, "Car Wash" featuring "Rose Royce" was another great one.

This song was in the "Saturday Night Fever" movie soundtrack, y'all reacted to. This really hyped up everyone on the dance floors of the disco clubs, back in the day! Thanks for this great reaction! ✌💙✌

This was one of my favorite music videos. One of the best 30 second openings around. The entire cast is just having such a great time playing the music, not stiff or robotic-like. Tony Mendes (main vocalist) had a crazy good voice. Just 16/10 vibe and sound

If the both of you want another dance song to react to, check out the 1953 instrumental, “Hawaiian Boogie” (it’s a real mover), or the 1954 instrumental, “Bandstand Boogie”, by Les Elgart And His Orchestra.

Thank you for your appreciation for this genre & era! My high school years coincided with the height of disco. A few Friday nights during the school year, the gym served as a dance floor, a dj was brought in and we students, along with adult chaperones, danced to this fabulous music. What a time to learn to dance! You still need to react to KC and the Sunshine Band's early hit "Get Down Tonight" - that was a staple of those high school dances, as well as Hot Chocolate's "Every 1's a Winner" with what may be the disco era's most iconic guitar riff. 🙂 Cheers!

I was a 70's disco diva! I was at the club every week sweating my glitter off. I tell my daughter to have this as my funeral tune so people can boogie whilst mourning... and yes, I will be cremated - burn that Mutha down x

back in the 70's and 80's there were parties every weekend and after the closing of every bar and club, sometimes you could check out 2 or 3 different parties in one night, and besides the drinks and weed, there was always great music playing and people getting up and dancing and just having a great time......those days are gone, as we went into the 90's and later, all you heard was people Over Dosing, Cops showing up, and stabbings and gun fire, things changed!
