Wow! What a great amp. I think it is genius that the reverb only goes to the 10''' speaker and the 15'' speaker remains dry. I imagine that gives you a lot of punch with the low end and the atmosphere of the reverb in higher frequencies. And: You make the best reviews and so entertaining. it is so much fun to watch. It always cheers me up. You really made me laugh out loud at the end of this video! :-)

Very cool amp, you can tell that Jack White is a mod geek like most of us. This will probably go down as one of Fender's best amps. My only issue is that I need to see the inside of it. Are there circuit boards inside or is it truly a hand wired amp? If I could see something else different on another model, it would be a twin reverb chasse with a 10" and a 12" speaker kind of setup like this...Make the amp a bit deeper and have 2-3 channels, each being a preamp/tone-stack of old classic pre-amps. Like a Deluxe channel a Bassman channel, and a crystally twin reverb channel. Based on space I would say you couldn't have all the reverb/tremolo options as this Jack White amp, but it would be cool to have the 2 speaker options and the 3 preamps all in one. Maybe put a tube powered effects loop on it along with the standard twin reverb unit and call it a day.

First impressions, and I know it's weird, but the yellow doesn't even stand out to me as much as just how far too high up someone screwed in that logo. That's like 3/4" too high, and it's making me seasick lol *edit: Well dang. Now that I've seen the features and heard it . . . I'm trying to find a reason not to sell an organ. My complaints are all aesthetic. It's ugly as sin. Not just the weird yellow (I know, it matches his other stuff like the pedal and whatnot) but also the dimensions. Part of the reason why, at least in theory, the deluxe reverb looks and sounds so good, is simply the "golden section". It's not just pretty (front grill's proportions are almost exactly 1:1.618) but also acoustically ideal for avoiding standing waves, phase cancellation, comb filtering etc. Making this amp shorter and wider would not only look and sound better but would vastly increase the stereo spread--in fact this square cabinet is acoustically the worst possible choice, literally. My only note regarding the sound: I don't care if it's sagrelige, harmonic trem doesn't appeal to everybody. I was missing the classic fender trem. The more I see the yellow the more I hate it. Please do more trump impersonations.

Random unrelated question for a noob - what was the original purpose in having two channels on an amp one clean? Was it so two different instruments could connect to the amp the same time like a guitar and a keyboard? Or was the clean channel made available for engineers so they can test their pedal designs or circuits against competitors or what you tell me!
@honkytonkinson9787
2 күн бұрын
From what I’ve read, amps in the 50s were more portable PA systems than amplifiers for a specific instrument. I have a tweed vibrolux clone, with three inputs, and each input has a different gain level. It’s more an instrument amplifier: guitar, organ, accordion, violin, etc The tweed deluxe had two channels with two inputs for each channel; i think one of the inputs was labelled the microphone channel. This is more a portable PA that several people might plug into for a show. The various inputs were put to different use pretty quickly, or not used at all. I think amps with multiple inputs now are just design holdovers from older amps; they just put them there because they’ve always been there Two guitars into one amp isn’t ideal
@renodavid
2 күн бұрын
I like honkytonk’s explanation. With Fender amps I think by the 60’s it was mainly so two guitarists could share an amp in a pinch, but, like honky tonk says, that was far from ideal. It was also possible to feed your guitar signal into both channels and have them set up for two different sounds, but I don’t think many people did that, to be honest. Thinking about it, I kinda wish Fender hadn’t gone down that road, but here we are 60 years later and all those blackface designs are considered classics, so what do I know. 🤷♂️

On paper this amp should be right up my alley, but I've gotta be honest... I haven't been impressed with the demos so far. Cooper and Pete Thorn have had ok tones, everyone else I've heard play it sounded terrible. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play one myself and change my mind (mostly because I don't want to gather up $10K for a Two Rock Joey Landreth!). I do think it needs a smaller reverb tank though... That's just too much to be useful. That's easy enough to replace and I'd probably swap out some of those 12ax7s with 12AU7s to cool the preamp and be able to work the power sections more. What I really want from Fender is a Tweed Pro with trem. Sky's the limit, maybe a single ended using a KT120? Maybe something stereo like this amp but replace the reverb with the analog chorus Fender used in amps during the 80s and 90s (keep the awesome trem, replace that way overboard reverb).
