Please consider checking out _That Song_ by Big Wreck. kzitem.info/news/bejne/laeptZePgnaleGk That’s the link to the original, full-length (about 5:05), album version, which is the best one. I wouldn’t bother bother with the 4:11 version-that’s a single version, shortened for mainstream radio and a video, and it cuts out the heart of the original. You seem to really enjoy thoughtful, melodic tunes, so I think this would be right up your alley. Thanks for your consideration.

Frey ... and it was a straight co-write - neither "helped" the other ... They both recorded it; the Eagles pushed theirs, Jackson Browne made it with "Doctor, My Eyes," instead ... The same happened for Jackson with "These Days," a hit for Gregg Allman that Jackson wrote for Gregg to sing when they were roommates before anyone heard of either of them ...

Everyone has their own suggestions, and I'm no different. While you're running down the Jackson Browne road, I strongly recommend "The Load Out / Stay," celebrating both the unsung heroes of tours - the roadies - as well as talking about the loneliness of a life on the road. The song(s) basically tell how the happiest times for a touring musician are those moments on stage, when they get the energy from the crowd. The rest is just survived to get to that next stage in the next town somewhere down the road: kzitem.info/news/bejne/1JmpsI5scKWkd44

I love Jackson Browne and this song is a pop masterpiece. To anyone else feeling like the protagonist in the song, I've got a story for you. A few years ago, I was in another state for a work contract and went out to a Meetup event at a local bar. I was just there to make some friends in the area, but then this absolutely gorgeous woman walked in, and I had the exact same thoughts the guy in the song is having. Yet, despite my usual introversion, my lack of muscle, and my subpar hair, I walked right up and started talking to her. Wasn't long before we were making out in her car. For the brief time I was in that city, she was my baby. Just go for it, my dudes. Rejection is not a big deal and you've got nothing to lose.

You hit the nail on the head Jamel. This song was so about the funk. All these years later, bad day just put it on. Sure to turn your head around and get cha to stepping. I know he said it just happened. Wonder f he knew was going to following him around for so many years. You hear this song and it is instant good mood. The funk is so damn fun. Was a blast to see him do it n person. Damn t holds up well with many generations. Most especially your review had me in stitches. Lord you are just too damn fun. Certainly am a follower for life. Keep on keeping on. So much happiness you spread. Thank you to Jackson for still performing this song over and over again for too many years to mention. It takes us all to our happy place. We need that more than ever right now. Same goes for James. First you get your shot in the arm then you go to their concert and get a real shot in the arm. Love the classics by James. I was waiting for the "ahh-ahhhhh" part, the whole song and then you rolled it back at that part - I know I'm in the right place!! This is one of those songs that I probably heard, 33 years ago, and I've never forgotten it. A classic. It reached #7 on the Billboard 100, when it was released. Not too shabby for a soundtrack exclusive song.

Jamel , you like songs that tell stories. Listen to The Load Out / Stay , it's his tribute to his road crew & his appreciation for all they do for him. I think you will enjoy it. As well as Tender Is The Night & The Pretender.

Jackson lived next door to Don Henley and Glen Frey in the early 70s. Glen is credited with titling Jackson's song "Running On Empty", because He and Don could hear him playing the melody over and over. Glen said he told Jackson, about the repetitive music, "sounds like you're running on empty".
