In this video, we are going to see how to make a special pongal day lunch recipe easily with simple steps and subtitle. This is our Jaffna's special vegetarian lunch combo we usually made on pongal day. It includes Sweet pongal, kootu kulambu, white rice, sothi, vadai, payasam, maravalli kilangu poriyal and appalam. From my childhoom I am seeing my mom used to make this combo sapaadu for pongal days compulsarily. So I thought to share this with you all. Jaffna pongal is made with coconut milk and thus it tastes delicious and creamy. The proportion of jaggery and the combination of red rice makes it more special. In the kootu curry, we only add country vegetables on pongal day. After having sweet pongal with curry, We all love to have white rice, kootu curry with ulli milagu sothi and chips. You can't explain the taste in it. Just try it in your home and feel it guys.

For Pongal:
Theetal pachai rice or any - 2 Cups
Moong Dhal - 1/2 Cup
Coconut Milk - 2.5 Cups
Water- 10 cups
Cardamom Powder - 1/2 Tsp
Jaggery - 3 Cups
Cashew - 50g
Raisins - 50g
Ghee - 100g
For Kootu Kulambu:
Moong Dhal - 1/4 Cup
Tapioca, Pumpkin, Long beans, Raw banana, Brinjal
Onion - 1
Garlic - 6
Green Chilli - 2
Jaffna Chilli Powder - 5 Tsp
Turmeric - 1/4 Tsp
Salt as needed
coconut milk - 2 Tbsp
For seasoning:
Oil - 2 Tbsp
Mustard - 1/2 Tsp
Cumin - 1/2 Tsp
Dry red chilli - 3
Curry Leaf
For Vadai :
Urid Dhal - 1 Cup
Onion - 1
Green Chilli - 1
Dry red chilli - 1
Curry leaf and coriander leaf
Coconut - 2 Tbsp
Salt as needed
Oil to deepfry
Payasam :
Sago - 1/2 Cup
Semiya - 1/4 Cup
Milk - 2Cup
Condensed Milk - 2 Tbsp
Sugar - 1/2 Cup
Appalam
