No. It is an example of cargo cult thinking. He had seen other robbers working, PROBABLY on CCTV crime shows, and decided to try for the same outcome. So he copied how the robbers acted, their clothing, actions and pointing a gun. But what he didn't understand were the underlying mechanics of the situation, why they wear those clothes and the special purpose of the gun, how it facilitates the robbery. In essence he copied the robber in the same way that the cargo cults of New Guinea copy aircraft, control towers and runways out of straw and wood. Copying the external appearance and hoping for the same result (a plane landing and delivering cargo.) At least our robber figured out the true dynamics pretty quickly. Fashion followers behave in a similar way when they attempt to emulate famous people in appearance, hoping for a similar outcome, popularity and adoration. Brilliant sketch.

It reminds me of the sketch where the man jumps out of the 2nd floor of a building 40 times instead of jumping off the 40 th floor once. Here instead of robbing a large amount of money and buying things with that he's just sticking up every shop he goes to. Hilarious and ridiculously stupid

What would you recommend fans of Blue Jam to do? If it was actually legitimately released, I'd buy it straight away. But there is *no release* of this series other than "pirate" copies - the CD I referred to is roughly 6.5% of the series, cut up and rearranged shoddily. What exactly would you do if, say, your favourite TV show wasn't released on VHS, DVD, or Blu-Ray, except for one "clip show" compilation episode priced at £25/US$40 (the price of that CD)? No season boxsets, just that clip show?

And yes, I used hyperbole to mock how overblown the issue is often portrayed in the media, and by the big companies. Not the little ones who actually try to accommodate their customers, the giant ones who are experiencing record sales despite acting like they're hobos in tattered clothes. Again, I reiterate - if Blue Jam was available for me to legitimately purchase, I'd do so, as I do with all the stuff I enjoy enough to want a copy of. Don't make erroneous assumptions about what I was saying.

No, you seem to have completely misread what I said. Jam, yes, available to buy and I did buy it. The Blue Jam CD, however, is not Blue Jam - it is a tiny tiny portion of Blue Jam, cut up and rearranged like a dodgy clip show. Literally, the only way to obtain Blue Jam is to download bootlegged copies of it. Blue Jam is 17 one hour long episodes, so it should be fairly obvious that the Blue Jam CD is not Blue Jam, much like the Star Trek TNG episode "Shades of Gray" is not Star Trek TNG.

I know several artists who have suffered financially because of internet piracy. In particular, Sublight Records went out of business because of it. Choosing 3 of the highest paid artists, and making an ludicrous sweeping sarcastic generalization that piracy has no ill-effects, is exactly the problem with the internet generation. The fact that several people have given you "thumbs up" really bothers me.

Blue Jam, and it's awesome. The CD is overpriced and only contains snippets of the 16-17 hours of awesomeness. If I were an advocate of evil internet piracy, I'd mention the torrent hash 664d6d5efcba9ddeead408f87581537f000047ba, but I absolutely hate all those evil thieves who use the internet to steal from artists and leave them broke. Torrents are the sole reason why The Beatles, Madonna, and Coldplay are now homeless hobos living on the street with unkempt dirty beards and drinking problems.

The Blue Jam CD is released under WARP records, an independent record label. He would very well see money from the sale. And it's the real Blue Jam CD, he was the one in charge of making the CD. It isn't some bootleg that a guy through together. If there is more material, which I'm sure there is because it was a radioshow, then why don't you download it in addition to purchasing the CD? You made a sarcastic implication comparing Chris Morris's financial situation to Madonna's.

To clarify, my objection is not to paying £25 for Blue Jam. I'd happily pay £50 for a legit copy of Blue Jam, probably even £100, if it actually existed. But paying £25 for a CD of not-Blue-Jam that I'd never listen to - the clip show format would break the ambient atmosphere of the show, ruining it, as well as the content being a pretty crap selection - seems ridiculous. Also, I haven't compared Chris Morris to Madonna, and I doubt he sees much (if any) money from the sale of that BBC Radio CD.

I actually do buy what I like, so I think you may've misinterpreted my other comments - I am often cynical and snarky. If I liked Madonna, I'd her CDs. And if it's WARP, then yeah, I'll now trust some money gets to Chris and buy it. Naturally I'll be keeping the download (which again, I'd buy if I could), but I'd gotten the impression that you thought the download itself was immoral to use because it's a bootleg (and is the only complete collection available). See, we don't need to be enemies :D

Even when you pirate the Beatles or Madonna, you are hurting working class people. There are hundreds of people involved with making those records - audio engineers, people who manufacture the CD's themselves, even the janitors at those studios - are all negatively effected when you pirate music. Enough of this "I'm sticking it to the man!" nonsense, you are stealing shit because you don't want to pay for it.
