RIP Mike Wilhelm (the uploader of this video and photographer of the Tuscaloosa tornado that James points out at 1:50). He passed away unexpectedly last November.

So I’ve thought about this day every day nearly. Having chased then did SAR. The death toll was not actually abnormal except for the Hackelburg/Phil Cam. EF-5: 71 fatalities. Having done hundreds of tornadoes and hurricanes providing medical and SAR. I have just came to expect 20-30 fatalities per EF4 or EF5 that hits a population. If it hits a city then I’ll expect 40-50 max. - one reason the death toll was so high is simply the quantity of cells with violent tornadoes. -- I do think they could’ve been a lot more aggressive on communicating a closet or bathtub is Russian roulette. A lot of them I heard them selling the closet/bathroom advice as if it was a guarantee they would be fine. When I had violent wedges out my windshield leveling everything. I can’t even count how many bathtubs I seen wrapped around trees and imbedded in the ground 4’. -- the death toll that’s abnormal is the joplin tornado. When we rolled into town we had bodies littering the streets every direction I looked I saw multiple people speared with 2x4s, square tubing, metal gutters, trusses, etc. - also we had several body parts that were stuck on car doors, hoods. And I seen a stop sign with a head stuck on it like a lemon slice on the rim of a glass.

7:48 James says, trying to get people in the audience to pay attention to him and what he is saying, says what we all need to do more often - stop looking at our phones - me included, it's addicting. In this case, he wanted people to see the pain and grief Ashley Harrison's parents were experiencing as they accepted her diploma in her place. James also points out earlier that he doesn't care about the footage of the tornadoes in progress, and watching them. The deaths and families the people who died left behind is what matters to him.

@@Totalpleasure1972 People have to take responsibility for their own actions too. He's not responsible for their deaths - they are! They didn't heed the warnings.
