When I found your channel, it was a revelation. Since then I’ve been advocating for everything you teach, trying to share with my friends. I even had the hope that I would share my algo with them after years of putting it together, because I want to help them and want them to be successful. But not 1 of them listen... it’s kind of sad, I really wanted to help them. But now it’s just a waste of energy. These last few weeks I’ve had the time to actually do some solid periods of testing and it’s been so ridiculously fun, to the point of actually consuming me. I can attest when I first started trading this was highly advertised as the way to trade and the importance of JCS. I spent all this time memorizing them. WTH was I thinking. Along with the dirty dozen. I blew through a demo account, I felt like I was gambling just throwing money on a color. I’m glad I was exposed to that early on, then I found this channel within a couple months into my trading career. VP you prevented me from making real mistakes going forward. I completed my first algo about a week ago. I still traded a fresh demo with an incomplete system and still went positive. I’m going to trade this algo on demo until the end of summer and see where I am. I am so anxious when I see profits on my demo to go live but PATIENCE I have my whole life ahead of me to trade. Many thanks again VP. To be clear making the transition and trading the NNFX way is not easy. Not by a long shot. It involves a lot of hard work and personal discipline. It takes weeks of back breaking research(at least for me) to find, distill and create a shortlist of the best tools and indicators out there. Additionally you have create an algorithm using VP's guidelines. Then test, tweak, retest and systematically document your results. Then hammer down on solid money management and you are good to go. This is by far the best forex channel you can find that gives honest to God advice. Nothing else out there comes close. This guy is fresh, blunt, straightforward and doesn't suffer fools gladly. Some say he is cocky and arrogant. A lot of his fans (myself included) prefer him that way. So to all the NNFX traders out there(I call you guys my brothers in arms), be relentless.

Its great to hear that we don't have to use candlesticks. I always thought it was a bit odd to make a conclusion when a sec either before or after a candlestick has finished could have told a different story. I have watched a lot of the videos now and VP is saying what everyone is afraid to admit. He does provide some essential foundation that every beginner or even those who have been trading for awhile should hear. I am like a lot of people who will listen to the whole video so as not to miss anything but there are some videos that could have been said in a shorter timeframe. If you go to 33 minutes into the video and listen to the conclusion this really is what is been said many times over.

I suffer from Dyslexia and most of the time I couldn't spot the patterns. I could just about see the single candles but had to have a cheat sheet to check them against. Head and Shoulder? I wonder if there’s one called Knees and Toes? The way in which VP is educating us is easier to understand because you're checking out the tool you’re using and discovering how they work through trial and error, then setting them in a framework of other tools that you understand, because you’ve developed it yourself. Thank's VP.

Haha VP, personally, you have turned my trading around completely. I sat down with my trading partner and told him "Look dude, I think I know why we are getting average results. Here is how we flip that". He was all ears until I got to the part where I said "Indicators" haha We were like the most anti-indicator set in a community of traders. But when we started following the outlined steps to build an algorithm, something amazing happened. It's been about a week, guys. A fucking week. And we are trading with less stress because our Algo takes a lot of the guessing out of your entries because your Algo will say "DO NOT ENTER". More than often, it's right... Saved me from crappy consolidation areas, hidden divergence etc. It's pretty sweet. We are converted. VP, thank you. I have not completed all of your videos but this was just heavy motivation to continue. And to the rest of you. Test, test, test and test some more. It's worth it.

The day I started learning about forex, I went on KZitem, your channel was the first I saw and I never click on anyone else that pops up. Therefore I am one of the lucky ones that didn't really learn those patterns to begin with so I don't see them on my chart. The bars are hard for me right now to distinguish when they open and close so the candles sticks are easier for me to see it. I did learn about the pattern you mentioned when I took babypips school and even then it confused the shit out of me that I didn't bother with it. Too many rules to remember and so many if's... "it can go this way but it can also go that way... "yeah duh! So I hope later on I'll be able to read bars better 😂 but for now candles sticks are ok, I don't see no patterns. I literally learn only the NNFX way! My brain will automatically see things the way you taught me. I'm just that lucky! 😎

It took me about 2-3 months to get off my pedestal of trading like the 99%. Luckily I was humbled early enough in the process because id only been trading forex for that same length of time and getting my ass handed to me. But I definitely fell into that crowd of amplifying the wins and dismissive of the losses. All the while I was listening to VP (NNFX) but just being resistant to change because it required more work than I was used to. Once I finally stopped drinking the IML kool-aid and dedicated myself to money management and testing out indicators I saw a huge improvement. Now I still don’t do things 100% like VP such as using MT4 to chart/use indicators. However using the skeleton of his system with my own spin and preferences has yielded much better results. I’m convinced that so long as you have the tenacity and curiosity to take on this market, you can be profitable. Go get it!

VP had me laughing here, folks. I started trading stocks and futures before data services could even spell "internet", much less utilize it to sell data for charting, etc. Newsletters with charts...that arrived in the mail 3 or 4 days AFTER the market closed. Daily newspapers that gave you the quote for YESTERDAY'S closing prices. OHLC "stick" charts will tell you the exact same thing that Candlestick Charts will...you just have to read them properly. Yeah, I think Candlesticks analysis is a useless gimmick, too...always have. The colors are nice, though. :) One thing that I didn't laugh at, however, was his claim that Forex currency prices (rates, actually...what's quoted on the ticker is an exchange rate) do not follow the law of supply and demand. This is a mistake. Not a serious one, at least not for a bottom up trading style like NNS, but a mistake none-the-less. As a trader who's seen and traded many types of markets and as one who embraces both top down and bottom up trading methods, I can testify that exchange rates on the Forex do indeed move *with* Demand and *against* Supply...just like every other market that has existed and does exist. I know who the players are, I know the tools that they have at their disposal. I also know that "they" - the Big Dogs - cannot circumvent the natural laws of economics anymore than *I* can. This goes for "Big Banks", hedge funds...even the Central Banks. They're all subject to the same natural law, whether they want to be or not. VP sites the IG Sentiment gauge as part of why he thinks this, but I know exactly what that gauge is and what it measures; its by no means proof that the Big Banks have somehow circumvented the law of supply and demand. I could go on for pages about why VP's point of view is wrong, but history proves my point with more eloquence and I'm sure VP isn't budging on his claim. There's no reason for him to. This mistaken point of view is one of the characteristics - and a huge blind spot - of bottom up trading styles: the big picture is not part of the "path to a decision". This is fine if your money management is sound and your psyche can endure maximum draw downs. VP has covered money management and psychology in this wonderful series and I would suggest that those who've gotten this far WITHOUT watching these videos stop now and go watch them. I say this because I know that if *I'm* going to invest the time and energy to build a bottom up trading algorithm I'd better be prepared to limit my risk with brutal efficiency...and I also need to be prepared psychologically to endure those rough periods when my system is out of sync with the market. But...I know that successful traders and institutions use a top down viewpoint to support their bottom up tools. A big part of that viewpoint is watching the factors that influence the supply of and demand for each of the currencies that they trade.

It's one thing to say that candlestick patterns don't work (I agree with this), but the implicit suggestion that price action is not relevant to Forex trading is factually incorrect. It's just a question of interpreting it correctly. I have a few algo templates I refer to but most of my ideas are based on what I see on naked charts. But then again, I am basing my ideas on macro market structure. If you want to understand the market, you don't necessarily need indicators, you just need to look on the monthly.

I just prefer Candles visually in comparison to Bar's. What I've just worked out is that on MT4 you can just change the outer line colour of the candle (outline+Highs and Low's line). My Background for my chart is Black so I just make the outline of the candles a darker shade of Green/Red so it blends in more but the information is still there if I need it). That or just make your outline the same as your background colour entirely and the highs/lows just disappear entirely

Just few words and my humble opinion, first candlestick pattern Is some times helpfull but you can not trade only looking them especially on daily chart, second i for example use rsi but i use only 50 level and with very good results, third i use RSI on H4 and Daily chart for divergency and that help me gain many pips i can show statement

The beauty of candlestick patterns being so popular and obvious is that they work nicely in penny/small-cap stock momentum trading. There are not many big-money players there moving things around, but rather thousands of traders around the world watching the same obvious patterns you are. With enough volume and confirmation from the level 2 and time & sales window, you can anticipate and jump into these patterns and their breakouts and they become self-fulfilling. There's also the supply and demand aspect. Low float stocks running on an FDA approval for instance. It's interesting to see how forex trading is the direct opposite of this approach, mainly due to the big banks fading these obvious setups. It just shows the importance of being under the radar in this $5 trillion market and take the no nonsense approach. All these forex traders who continue to use candlesticks and chart patterns seriously need to switch over to momentum stock trading. We could use the extra liquidity and make even stronger moves.

How did you go from candlesticks to candlestick patterns like they are the same thing? As a visual presentation of price as price bars are concern imo there is nothing better out here.

I know I'm four years late but I think the important distinction you should have made in your title is "candlestick patterns" as opposed to "Japanese candles". I agree, the whole patterns thing is a load of balderdash but I would suggest it's because someone decided the wrong patterns. Why isn't there a "lots of small candles next to each other before the market open" pattern? That's a common one that actually suggests a big move might happen!

Well Vp what i have learnt from this video is to combine the tools and not only trade one tool...but candlesticks are perfect as learning indicator ,if you only know how to read each single candle and combine the in a range ...analyze the context and the environment the market is in ...u will appreciate the beauty of candlesticks ...the patterns depends on where there forming ...if all these would be put in consideration then big up for candlesticks pattern analysis....candlesticks have been tested for over 400 years ago and it's proven the best tools to use in any market ......if candlesticks where not effective they would not be in the existence this long .....if Banks and institutions determine the trend in the market then the retail traders should learn trade along with them and not against ...am sure trading along with them will make any retail trader much profitable since as retail trader we can easily get in and out of the trade ...which banks can't do since they put big investments in the market than retail trader do

I use Japanese candlesticks but I don't use candle stick patterns anymore bcuz when I did, my demo account capital looked ugly lol I was literally guessing my way into trades trying to "predict the future" of a trade. I agree with this to be honest. and I use the daily chart for trading. I prefer using OHLC (bar chart) instead since it emphasizes more on the opening and closing of the price. much more better than the candle stick since I only want the price not that pattern, but OHLC charts have patterns still but like 5 or 6 I believe
