Japanese Grilled Seafood Pancake / Funwari Kaisen Okonomiyaki

[ 2 Servings ]
[ Ingredients ]
Cake flour - 100gm
Bonito flakes - 2gm
Japanese yam - 50gm
Cabbage - 200gm
Squid ( small ) - 1 piece
Shrimp ( small ) - 8~10 pieces
Egg - 2 pieces
[ Seasonings ]
Salt - some
Milk - 100cc
Tonkotsu sauce or Okonomiyaki sauce - 2 tablespoons
Mayonnaise - some
Seaweed powder ( Aonori ) - some
Bonito flakes ( Katsua bushi ) - some
[ Preparation ]
1. After sieved the cake flour in a large bowl & add salt.
2. Give a knead to the Bonito flakes & add into a flour.
3. Add the grated Japanese yam in a flour.
4. Pour the milk & mix well.
5. Finely diced the cabbage.
6. Cut the squid into smaller slices.
7. Divide the chopped cabbage in half, batter in half, 8~9 pieces of shrimps, squids & a piece of egg, combine all the ingredients in a large bowl.
8. Heat oil in a frying pan over low heat, pour the cabbage mixture & spread the mixture in a circle. Pan fry until golden brown ( roughly takes 3~4 minutes ).
9. Flip over the Okonomiyaki, cover with lid over low heat & simmer for 3~4 minutes or until golden brown.
10. Remove the lid, flip over again & simmer for 3 minutes over low heat.
11. Brush Tonkotsu sauce over the Okonomiyaki, squeeze some mayonnaise, sprinkle with seaweed powder & Bonito flakes.i
[ Tips ! ]
* Q:Does it taste heavy milky flavor after add in milk?
A:Nope. It does not taste milky flavor if is mixed together with other ingredients & also can enjoy a extra rich flavor !
* however, if not used to it, can substitute with Japanese Dashi !
* can add scallop will be tasty too ~ !
* it will , mixture will be turn to watery. Remember, have to divide in a mixing bowl.
