Was in Halflong, 1971, studied at St. Agnes and later on at the Govt. Boys. Cherish many moments and memories of my Halflong. Two years back I went to visit my Halflong, which wasn't there any more. I was very disappointed to see the new Halflong, the peaceful bazaar was gone, the Assamese L. P. school in front of the bazaar was completely demolished, the lake overcrowded by houses, so many people everywhere it was very difficult to find my old Halflong, my lovely peaceful princess of the hills. Even St. Agnes school changed a lot with a few of the old structures remaining there are new buildings made inside. Whatever it may be my love and longing for my Halflong will always be there till my last day. Thank you for racking up my memories of our sweet princess of the hills.

I consistently aim to raise awareness about the aesthetic value of ancient times. Therefore, I am making a modest effort through this channel the necessity to safeguard and preserve historical structures and relics. I acknowledge that progress comes at a significant cost, but it is feasible to strike a balance between preserving the past and embracing modernity, as exemplified by Kolkata city. Any way thank you Sir for taking the time to watch my vlog. Your comment prompted me to delve in to the past, and I appreciate the opportunity to engage in this discussion 🙏

@@SuperShring thank you, appreciate your efforts to bring out the best from Halflong. There are so many interesting places around Halflong very few people know, even the now abandoned railway tunnels is a place to visit and rediscover. I miss Halflong so much that I couldn't explain, I am almost 64 now and crippled with nerve pain or I would have visited my little princess of the hills again.

Khasis, be it in Meghalaya or Jatinga, take great care in preserving their heritage homes. The houses in the video are reminiscent of what once characterized Haflong too, for the most part. Thanks for reviving their worth through this video.

To begin, I would like to express my gratitude for your interest in the video. In response to your question, the Karbi people are a native community in the District. On the other hand, if we consider the Bodo people as a separate community rather than a cluster group, their settlement in the District is relatively recent Khublei 🙏
