I live in WV, I done this last fall after garden was done. Was using a 14" plow that I had bought. I recommend getting a plow made for the smaller tractors do to having to do some mods for clearance.

Great video! Get you an on land plow, they pull easier than in fur plows do. I have a 790 John Deere that pulls 3 bottom 14" on land Case plows.

I just purchased a new plow for my tractor, but since I have the quick hitch attachment on my tractor both it and the box blade is difficult to attach. I would have to use the lift lever quite often like you are doing to keep the plow from going too deep in the soil in some areas.

I thought about the quick hitch for mine but just haven't gotten one yet. I'm looking into buying a smaller plow that has a depth wheel on it so I don't have to work the control so much. But again I haven't bought one and I've already used tiller attachment for the garden this year. Maybe to turn it over this fall.

That is a good idea and good luck on finding the plow. I ended up ordering one and it came from China. I tried finding a used one in my area, but could not find one.

Hello John! Enjoying your video from neighboring Kentucky :) I noticed in a video comment you mentioned the plow size. I thought that plow look rather large for the tractor. I have a 1025R JD and considering buying a plow for it. When you say plow for the smaller tractors you are referring to a cat 0 sized plow??? Such as for Garden Tractors. I have some virgin rocky kentucky ground i want to break but i have serious doubts about my little john deere breaking it with a full cat 1 plow.

Hello JohnnyRebKy, hope things are going good in neighboring state. The plow I was using was made for a full size tractor that had the coulter on it and adjusting lift bar. It was also bent and welds broken, so to start with I had to have it straighten and rewelded. Coulter had to be removed and the arm for it cut off do to it hitting guard for pto. I also had to add extensions to get lift arm pins lower to get ground clearance when traversing. I have since gotten rid of that plow even tho it did a good job after all of that. Howse makes a cat 1 plow for smaller tractors that I believe is a 12", that I am planning on getting for ciuple reasons. 1) my garden area isn't all that big and is on a fairly good grade so it won't be as heavy, not that tractor had to much problem other than trying to pull it sideways. 2) Do to hind sight I didn't pay attention to the tractor not having draft control so the plow kept trying to pull deeper as well. (Its been about 30yrs since I had plowed ground with any tractor, and I have forgotten a few things.), but with the Howse plow you can get a depth gauge wheel for it as well. As far as power of tractor its like having the old 8n in a smaller 4x4 version. I've had a full size post hole digger on it and done fine, also made a 7' boom pole and a 48" land plane, ( you can see them in other vids I posted) that tractor does fine with. Hope this has helped you some. If uou have anymore questions or concerns I do what I can to help you.

Thinking about getting this tractor for my small garden and food plot. Seems like it performs well. Have you had any problems with it.

Could have saved a lot of mileage by using a circular plowing pattern in forward motion only.

Where is this at? I am thinking getting a JD 1023e and I never would have though to try plowing with it.

@Charles Lelièvre I got a double 12 that I use now. I feel a 14 was a little much, but can also depend on ground and soil

@Charles Lelièvre sounds like it will be. Without a depth wheel, or control on tractor, the plow will keep pulling deeper. I like the 12 better.

@Charles Lelièvre it's a old Massey Ferguson I done some trading on. You can Google plows for sub compact tractors. It'll bring up single point plows to fit. There's a place in NC that manufacturers that has them and a implement dealer in OH that I see advertising them at times. I believe one brand I've seen is howse I believe.
