It can't be they only advertise new models. If people realize that a classic XJ can do this with some modifications and a great tires. People wouldnt get so much of the newer wranglers.

Absolutely agree with the narrow tires......they cut deep into the snow, where wide tires tend to climb on top of snow..... I'm thinking the temperature needle was near pegged.....

Great video but I have found that sometimes a narrow tire works better in deep snow. The wider tires set on top of the snow and spin a lot. I have a friend that works for a towing company in Michigan and he confirms it. He said that the vehicles with huge tires are the first ones to get stranded. I know when I was a kid back in the 50s all we had were really narrow snow tires but my grandfather never worried about getting out. Love the video and the camera action was fantastic.

Yah, you are correct it wasn't. Just after this trip I discovered that the skirt on cylinder 4 busted clean off and caused a knocking sound. It got louder on the way down. Tossed a used piston in with a poor mans hone and ran like a dream for several years.

@@LowGearMedia Thank you. Great to hear from you. The fact it is an XJ for me is a plus. I have a bought new blue 97 4X4 XJ Sport 2dr, Auto with (beige interior) super rare. 89,000. Gonna be making like new, paint, suspension. Want to go 3. but will not rid of factory trim and look. It being so rare with low mileage, thinking better than factory underneath at factory height, and just get another 2 dr 4X XJ down the line to bring up 3 and trick that out with all the ufo lights and bells and wenches and whistles. I am a 2dr XJ lover. I have another 2X 2dr. May convert it cause it is manual. Again that video is a beautiful representation of this passion.
