The term genius should be used with care, but Jeff was a genius. While other guitarists hide behind mindless shredding, he put so much soul in each and every note he played. And he continued to evolve his sound over decades. One of a kind.

Rick Beato came up with the right word to describe Jeff Beck's guitar playing: Uncopyable. JB was such a genius and was so original in his approach. I admired him greatly for never letting the music business get in the way of playing guitar exactly the way he wanted to. Fame be damned. Which of course made him even more famous because he had unlimited room for creativity and innovation. The ultimate master of the whammy bar, which I am a big fan of. Will be greatly missed but like so many musicians dying we can only be thankful for all the great recordings they left behind.

Jeff is a tier 2 guitarist, a genius, but second tier. The first tier is for guitarists who thought of music instead of making the whole band be just a coadjuvant. Jimi and Zappa thought of music, they're tier 1 geniuses. Listen closely to Jeff and you'll realize that he's the only one really playing on the band.

Imagine you can hold your own in a class band as a bassist. You have someone who can feature the band as a guitarist. You have also a very, very skilled and experienced drummer and a good friend of the guitarist. Will you show off your bass techniques and the acrobatics on the fret to shine ahead of the main man? Not to mention she is a young Australian native whose mentality is so down-to-earth and good-hearted. She shone, by the way, to my eyes as she gets on with her role in this supermen of the music all right. Lovely people as a whole. Jeff is a lucky man, isn't he? One more thing, if I have to choose and play one instrument of this band to replace him/her if I were that great, I would not choose guitar as it is nerve-wrecking to do what Jeff does at his sleep again and again. I would not choose bass as I cannot provide that level of stability to the band on stage as I am a bit of risk-taker and timid at the same time. So, drum or keyboard. I would pick keyboard as it might not show my mistakes so badly that the rest of the band might get upset with me in the dressing room! By the way, the synthesizers sound awesome and rather recorded CD like in this clip, don't they? Well done, keyboardist! Who is he?

Jeff Beck is a Master Guitar Player that referenced many Genres in his Musical Quest for Self Fulfillment. Playing the Guitar for Jeff isn't about Fame, Fortune or Ego, Although, He takes alot of Pride in Quality Production of his Music and how his Message is Conveyed. It's Beautiful! Master Guitarists Occupy The Level where Guitar is Utilized to express oneself and Play from the Heart & Soul, Then, That becomes Something Spiritual to Guitar Players. Accomplished Musicians can tell Immediately what Mood a Guitar Friend is in By his Playing! Jeff Beck is a very Spiritual Player, It's so Pure and Non-Assuming, Like Fire & Rain. Jeff was in "The Yardbirds" Early 60s Blues/Rock Band that Eric Clapton & Jimmy Page were past Members. Jeffs Guitar Work on Stevie Wonders "Talking Book" lp is Fabulous. His early Jazz/Rock Fusion Bands And Collaborations with Jazz Greats are Awesome. Jeff Beck likes Fender Stratocaster Guitars and stated, "Out of all the Guitars, The Stratocaster is the one Closest to the Human Voice." Jeff Becks ability to draw inspiration from Unusual Sources & Genres is Incredible. He has Out Paced many British lads in this endeavor. The fact that Jeff likes working on Hot Rod Cars indicates he's also Mechanically Inclined. He stated in Guitar Player "Once while traveling on a Jet, I was told either my Guitar or New Balanced Camshaft had to go to Baggage, I told them to take the Guitar but the Camshaft stays with Me." :)
