I was there, and so bummed when they teased Bleed The Freak, then stopped. It sounded really good. But It Ain't Like That was a good consolation!

Agreed. And IMO, there are some songs so closely related to Layne that I don't think they _should_ play them (like Love Hate Love or Shame in You, however, Jerry has played Nutshell though he got very broken up over it) but THE CROWD demands -blood.- I mean old songs. So they play 'em, bless them.

@@jekku4688 it’s not exactly a rare occurrence/ Jerry has played Nutshell hundreds of times live since Layne’s passing. I’ve see it on every tour since 2009-2010.

But Jerry wrote all the lyrics to It Ain’t lIke That, Got Me Wrong, Bleed the Freak, Rooster, Down in a Hole, Would?, etc. Layne was a world class singer but he didn’t write those particular songs. Love, Hate, Love, Head Creeps, Angry Chair on the other hand they are all pure Layne in the melodies and lyrics.

Jerry wanted Layne all to himself, I think. Jerry wanted the band to ride off into the sunset, just the 4 of them, like his rock heroes. Alas, twas not to be. He had to come up with a Plan B pretty quick. This wasn't really his plan, but the guy's gotta make a living, and when you're a living rock legend, you do what you gotta do. I miss Layne. I miss his voice. I wish Jerry had renamed the band something other than AIC, honestly. But we don't live his life. He's gone through hell and back. So cut the guy some slack, and be thankful that we still have the 3 of them. Some day we won't.

I don’t think Layne would mind at all, after all this is the only way that new generations of fans will be able to hear these songs sung in a live setting, seeing as they will never have the immense spine tingling experiences of Layne doing it. Little consolation but I really think it must be so hard for Jerry each and every time he is on stage and it’s not Layne at the mic, it’s not as if he’s using shitty singers to do it, that is when you could see it as out of order. I think Layne Staley would want it that way and Jerry owns the music anyway so can include it in his shows if he likes

This is so beautiful. Greg is amazing! He sings with so much passion, and he loves Jerry and the music. I love his voice! "See the cycle I've waited for? It ain't like that, anymore!" Cause everything we were promised was a lie. There is no better band than AIC that represents Gen X, who we are, and what we are doing! The Denver AIC show last night was amaze balls . . . the energy, the people . . . they didn't perform it ain't like that or got me wrong, though, so I am going through YT to see the recent performances of these two songs!!!
