Here's something a lot of people don't understand. It's easy to look back at the players of the 2000s, 90s, 80s, etc and draw inspiration from someone's gameplay and improve on it. Players like Jerry West was using nothing but his imagination and hard work to be this good. It's not like they had ESPN top 10 plays on the TV or KZitem compilations. The players of this Era had to make it all up as they went along.

I don't look at Lebron and Kobe to improve my game. Kobe is MJ. He copied all MJ game. So I learn from MJ and the others that created the moves. Pistol Pete, Dr. J and so on. Even Bob Cousy and Bill Russell. Bob Cousy style dribbling is fun to do and I use it some. I am nowhere near as good at that style. But I make players look like little kids with it. Even ex Highschool players and ex. college players. They're not used to it. Almost every player never seen it in a game. I can do crossovers too. But Bob Cousy style is harder to do. Believe it or not. Try it sometime after you practice it. By the way I'm a outshape white guy. For those that think white players can't be good and are as good as little kids. I beat kids that have a better crossover than mine. Knowledge matters in sports. It makes you a better player. I've seen 40/50 yr old fat mostly white guys beat young 18 to 27 yr old skinny black guys that can jump higher and run faster. In a regulation 40 minute game. They won because of fundamentals, knowledge and experience. So physical abilities is not everything. MJ even got beat by guys 1 on 1 that could not even jump half as high as him and could not run as fast as him. Larry Bird beat him. Larry Bird is said to be a slow white guy too. Plus others. Does not matter who you're their is someone out there that can beat you 1 on 1.

Some clips are pretty amazing though. If the three point line was in at 1:54, Lakers would've won the title. Also, he wasn't really chosen as the logo. The artist chosen to make the NBA logo wasn't talented enough and copied a picture that just so happen to be Jerry West. Furthermore, it doesn't matter if he'd do well in today's game, he played when he played, and just leave it at that.

Jerry West was a sharp shooter. I remember watching him play against the Big O Oscar Robertson and my favorite Walt Clyde Frazier. The late sixties and early 70,s had great backcourts.Pistol Pete Maravich was another guard that could shoot the lights out.Earl the Pearl Monroe was another guy who shake and bake then put a spin move on you and take you to the hoop. All these guards are on the fifty greatest list.Jerry West was also a teammate of Wilt Chamberlain in the 1971-72 season when the Lakers went on their 33 game winning streak. The streak ended when the Lakers played the Milwaukee Bucks with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and the Big O Oscar Robertson.Jerry West has always shown a lot of class as a player and a General Manager. He has skills and knows talent when he evaluates players that are coming into the NBA.

I don't get people who say he wouldnt dominate even today... Am I looking at the same game today we are looking at? Doncic out there walking as alow as he possibly can, like literally I am shocked how slow he moves at times and still dominating. Did people forget that no1 objection of the game is to get the ball through the hoop? I think Jordan spoiled everyone thinking you gotta look like superman while doing it.

Facts. West would be better today, than he was back then. Look how congested the floor is, & how strict the referees were making them dribble that way, or they’d call palming, which the nba doesn’t even enforce any longer, in the way it was meant to be enforced.
