I am british, but i have been watching old kentucky derbies and triple crown races and this guy was the best anchor i have ever seen - he was instantly likeable and very passionate - I am glad he lived a long and happy life - what a legend - he will always be remembered!!!

Interesting note about McKay. He left the established CBS due to the lure and challenge of WWS on the so-called "third-rate" ABC, where he became synonymous with "exotic sports." But he in fact started covering mainstream games such as baseball and football. While not a play by play guy, he did an early TV show related to the Brooklyn Dodgers. With CBS Sports, he actually did do NFL play by play. Would love to see a tape of McKay doing NFL football.

Al Michaels - I don't know if you are going to Paris - I never have seen a Studio of the Size they must have had in Los Angeles that now is Prospect Studios. Jim was meant to bring the constant variety of Sports to audiences around the world just like Walter Cronkhite was meant for CBS and The JFK Assasination. Thank You Bob Costas. The Olympiad's are a Huge endeavor.

No better Olympic host. Not Costas, not Turico, not Ron McLean, not Scott Russell or Brian Williams.
