more cool stuff and I hear on not a purpose but a want,I now have 11 various J D garden tractors and friends and family ask " but what are going to do with all of them?" hey, they're the one thing in my life that makes me happy and smile and that's all they need to do. I believe pincor is pin-core thanks again

According to the Pincor Installation manual, you need V-belt number 5L430. Nice work!

It looks solid. I only learned of the drill trick to re-excite the coils a short time ago. It works. I've seen a few guys do this with belt drive generators on older John Deere and Wheelhorse tractors with front PTO pulleys. It makes sense. Buying a freestanding generator means one more engine to maintain and all the fuel degradation headaches that go with it. Your tractor gets used year round meaning fresh fuel in it. Its good for power outages and doing power tool work out away from the house and garage too far for extension cords. It'll come in handy sooner or later.

Very nice! Wish I could run a generator from my old (2004) Troy-Bilt Bronco. Here's why your newer drill didn't work to "re-energize" your generator: it rectifies the incoming AC into DC to operate the electronic speed control for the DC motor. Manually spinning the chuck does not produce voltage at the AC plug. Your older, cheaper drill has a universal motor (will run on AC or DC) that is directly connected to the power plug through the trigger. Manually spinning the chuck WILL produce a voltage at the power plug (as would any tool/appliance with a universal motor such as an older router or skilsaw).

I just re-energized my Coleman generator with my 1/2 inch Dewalt hammer drill. It has to be VS and reversible. Plug it in with the generator running, put it in reverse and squeeze the trigger tight then spin it in reverse hard several times. It does work. Didn't believe it till I tried it. Years ago when Troybilt was Troybilt not MTD they made a model of the Horse tiller that had a PTO that powered the tiller and could be bought with a generator and log splitter that also fit the PTO. MTD does't make that set up anymore but I've seen several for sale on craigslist. There's still some of them out there.

3000 watts? That's it?! I was expecting it to be at least 7000 watts but I guess generators build back then didn't produce as much power as ones made today for the size of the engines. That's cool that you actually have a generator for that old John Deere. It must be quite rare.

I found one of these alternators in a barn. Pincor 4500 watt. Who wants it?

How does this tension the belt? I’m looking to build a similar mount for my 330 to hold a 7200 watt generator head and I’m having a little bit of a tough time figuring out a good way to tension the belt

I have a similar notion for this also. Did you come up with anything?

Do you know how to flash the Generator? I had the motor going and plug the drill into it and tried flashing it that way by spinning the drill nothing happened though.

Try spinning the drill in reverse. Also I have found you have to have an older drill. Newer drilled do not seem to work well for reflashing. I keep an old Black and Decker unit just for this purpose.
