I met Johnny and Andy after this show. My friend and I were at the bar in the balcony, and they came up and were taking some photos and talking to people.

So sad, moving and sends shivers down my spine watching this beautiful performance of two greats together of a beautiful song over 30yrs later when you know it’ll never happen again with just two let alone 4 original band members. RIP Andy you always entertained us with splendid and different bass playing.

One of my favorite Smiths songs. Andrew Michael Rourke - Rest In Peace! One of the best bass players in the world has passed away - cancer is a perverse disease!

What really pisses me off of that throughout the years members of The Smiths played music with each other in groups of two.... But the four of them never got together again and they certainly never will now that Andy is gone. Until Andy's death, I've always held-up hope that one day there would be a reunion tour or at least a one-time reunion concert.... that dream is now officially dead. RIP Andy Rourke.

They hate each other and each think they're better off without the other. Mike Joyce is publicly hated by the sanctimonious Morrissey. Their politics are polar opposites. So no, there will never be a reunion and thank fuck for that. The legend of the Smiths must remain as it is.

It must be very odd playing a song like this with a crowd whoopin' an' a-hollerin' like it's a rockin' party or somesuch. We hardly ever play slow, gentle songs in concert because of stuff like that but I'm glad they (and others) do it because it makes the dynamics of gigs more interesting. 🙂
