There's something spine tingling when a producer drops his own best banger and utterly slays the delivery!

All us 90s ravers/techno/househeads know exactly where we were when we first heard this track. It is one of those rare compositions that absolutely destroyed dance floors the world over. Always underground, never compromising. Respect to Wink.

I remember SO many nights/mornings when the club let out the after-party always happened at our apartment. Yes APARTMENT. I remember this song was constantly pumping over the speakers. This one and a DJ Santana song coulda been our theme songs. For the life of me I can't explain how we didn't get kicked out. Awesome times, awesome friends. Man I wish I could go back just one more time

Dieser Track ist so mächtig und episch, dass er ins Museum gehört. Der Sound zerlegt jeden der auf der Party ist, ist seine Einzelteile. Das ist reine Ekstase wenn die Beats einsetzten pure Entladung der Energie

Absolutely insane track, and loved hearing this on dancefloors around the country in the 90's. It was so fresh - everything from the beat to those crazy acid tweaks was like nothing else at that time. It never failed to deliver complete mayhem around the whole club, and you cold probably play it in 30 years time with the same effect. I even remember seeing bar staff dancing to this - it was that good. Love what Josh does with this live version - a long slow build up, teasing bits of the track as he goes, before gradually taking things to utterly mad levels and sending the crowd into a total frenzy. A Higher State of Consciousness is the perfect title, as that's exactly where this track took you if you were lucky enough to be in the middle of a dancefloor when this monster of a tune was unleashed.

@@francoisbonnet3631 on that occasion Josh played at The Ormond Multimedia Centre, a great place but has since been closed down. The Pod too has closed since, sadly, another great venue, part of an old railway station that was converted into three clubs and a bar, but has since been sold and renovated as office retail space. Such is the way Dublin clubbing has gone. I hope you enjoyed playing here and the tour was fun!

@@dcbkk6981 amazing how he never touched the records either, only ever the pitch controls to adjust the speed. So when the double acid blast came in, the 303s stayed perfectly in tune with each other, no tweaks up and down from nudging the vinyl. It was awesome, i was mesmerised watching it.

a few years later it would be relatively easy to replicate what he was doing using the delay FX on a Pioneer DJM, on the 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 settings. Almost. The really exciting thing about this live mix was he wasn't just juggling two copies, one a beat behind the other, he was using Record Two to cut in at all kinds of angles, he knew the track so well he was able to create completely new acid lines that couldn't be replicated with simple tap delays, yet he was doing it without ever disrupting the flow of the track. It was stunning. The sound of a man absolutely at one with his greatest piece of music.

Bought this tune from HMV in Ealing. Bloke told me he could only get it on import cd for £7.49 and I would have to wait a week for it to be shipped in only for it to go on UK release 5 days later and sold for £2.99. Needless to say I was still boasting I had on import 5days before any of my mates and it was an import! Proper tune form my teens!
