Hey, I’ve watched a lot of your videos! It was a big surprise to see myself on your page. Thanks Jarrod for submitting. I’m glad you liked my performance. I see some comments that seem worried for me, after hearing my song. I couldn’t have written this song without working through the emotions first. That’s why I write. I also couldn’t perform it nightly if I didn’t still mean it. Mental health is fluid. This isn’t a cry for help, but it is a way for me to share my experience with others. I hope y’all enjoy!

Thanks Jarrod Rhodes for being a Guitargate member & sending this in. I love that you trust me and this community to share things like this. The more we talk about what really going on in our hearts and minds, the more we feel less alone... and the more we help others who are being silent. We're all fighting battles others cannot see. Don't ever forget it. Lots of love my brother.

Schellraiser, 2023. Two stages. You can't miss. Never heard of Joshua Ray Walker, but I'm drawn to the stage anyway. Several songs in, I'm near the front. Suddenly, the generators fail. The sun has just gone down. Unfazed, JRW steps to the front with an acoustic guitar, takes a seat, and smacks us with this song. Unplugged. We all sit, spontaneously. Some us cry. We applaud. The generators roar back to life. The band (and light) return to the stage. Joshua and his band proceed to melt our faces. Seriously, one of the best sets I've ever seen.

I went outside to smoke a cigarette while trying to endure this beautiful, honestly perfect timing (NOT HYPERBOLIC) message. I'm crying so gd much its interrupting getting this out. My Friend (also roommate) died by self harm a few months ago. This was his pain. This was his pai. This was his pain. This was his pain . The weight of this is suffocating.

Imagine pouring your heart out and getting 5 people with their thumbs up and no response 😂 Also quit smoking if you can because that’s self-harm too. Hope you’re alive. Touch grass more often. Get sober. Talk to friends more often. Help others. Do something active daily. Find something you enjoy and do it as often as life allows. You’ll be aight if you do those things.
