I was first introduced to the Rags-A-Gogo thrift shop by my friend and web design client, Blen, who told me about a nearby store that needed their website optimized. When I arrived at the store, I was greeted by its owner clearly articulating the bottom line of my job: to make her Instagram famous. I hope this documentary is a close second.
I also wanted to continue documenting fleeting places and with rent through the roof around Union Square, Rags-A-Gogo's historic, but soon ending presence seemed to be a hidden treasure I wanted more people to be aware of. Little did I realize the real treasure of the store - its owner.
Created for Rags-A-Gogo and my third exercise in NYU Sight and Sound Documentary Production.
