I have gluten sensitivity. I avoid it as much as possible. My health has done a total turnaround. I'm feeling much better and am able to do more house cleaning. My activity level is higher than before. Constipation is gone too. I went from "shutting down" to all systems are go!

She needs attention. She's a 72 year old trying to stretch out whatever fame she may have had. By posting this video and celiacs up roaring, it shares her video and people read and inquire about her. Pay no attention. I got celiac disease at 32 years old. After having another auto immune disease for 13 years. Believe it baby, it's real.

From the context, it seems pretty clear to me that what she was referring to as "baloney" is the multitude of fad followers who only think that they need gluten free foods, not the smaller number who actually do. With her comment "well if they have celiac... How many people have celiac, Thomas?", It's pretty obvious that she acknowledges the reality of the disease. The only thing she's guilty of here is poor wording.

Wow, this is very sad. I could come up with many hurtful things to say about Joy but why waste my time. Sometimes I wonder if big corporations that promote gluten type products slip so called celebs a little "dough" to try and discredit the value in a gluten free diet. I gave it up and am far healthier.

To answer your question Joy, 3,000 Americans are suffering from Celiac Disease 83% are undiagnosed or misdiagnosed and 1 out of 100 people worldwide have Celiac. I have suffered from this auto immune disease for years and have never heard a more offensive and ignorant statement before in my life! I guess the self involved Joy Behar has never imagined what having a disease that takes away one of the most important social and business interactions in life (eating) would mean. So sorry to hear that when we (Celiacs) want to have a meal with our family or friends in public it "irritates" you. You owe the Invisible Disabilities & Celiac Disease communities a big apology. Way to use your platform on national tv to backtrack all the hard work organizations like The Celiac Disease Foundation do to HELP SAVE OUR LIVES every day.
