This song still haunts me. I first heard it when I was a teen back in the early '80's, living in rural Sweden. For me, Joy Division was a gift. I'm sure that you'll like the song "Ceremony", written by Joy Division but recorded by New Order, formed by JD members after the death of Ian. Thanks for putting a spotlight on great band.

Joy division always reminded me in some of their songs like a slowed down version of Black Sabbath

It's a song that does everything right, and I can still recapture how I felt forty-five years ago hearing it for the first time. I don't ever want to feel that way again though.

Surprisingly, the guitar solo reminds me of passages from "War Pigs". And New Order may have repackaged parts of the song for "Elegia" fittingly enough, but that's speculation.

(I just watched that vid you mentioned. Mojo could've picked pretty much any Joy Division song for their list! In terms of the lyrics predicting doom. [Last album has photo of a tomb on it.] I think they probably chose this track 'cause someone in their office has good taste in tunes.)

The older I get the less I believe in coincidences. Still great choice of a song. Knew you'd probably like this one. All instruments are solid; the mood is moody.

Try Twenty Four Hours next. Another classic from Joy Division and even more powerful given that it's from their last album.

An old school cartoon character, iirc. Yep. "Klondike Kat is a cartoon produced by Total Television and originally aired as part of The Beagles on CBS-TV in 1966, and later found in the U.S. syndicated Underdog and Tennessee Tuxedo cartoon series, in between episodes as an animated short."
