While that may be true, there have been so many people, and bands that we love, that have been inspired by 1976-"Sad Wings of Destiny". One of my favorite bands (Gamma Ray) has done a cover of like 3 different priest songs over the years (Victim of Changes being one of them) and even have a track called "Wings of Destiny" (epic song).

I don't disagree, but he needs hooks and groove that he won't get much of until Rust. He may like half of Peace Sells, but I see him struggling through the first two. At this point I just think he's better off listening to something like Motley Crue. Which is better is kind of irrelevent, I'm not having fun if he's not having fun, you know?

Hehehe Knew you'd get into the Priest ;) Your enjoyment of Maiden was the big indicator there. Truth be told.. other than specifically hardcore fans of either band.. if one of the bands was having a concert.. and for some reason was not able to show up.. but the other band showed up in their place.. the majority of the audience would not be too upset at all. Most fans love both bands for similar reasons. Between Maiden, Priest, Ozzy, AC/DC, Dio, Motley Crue, and a few others.. the 80's rock/metal scene was fully covered.. at least until Metallica hit the scene and disrupted the norm with their thrashier sound. Death metal also evolved around the same time.. so the genre basically split into 3 new sub-genres. So far, you pretty much disliked the thrash side.. the death metal side is like thrash but much more violent in content.. and then there is this.. what I like to call 'arena metal'. Maiden and Priest fall nicely in this category. Arena metal later became power metal and glam.. glam being more focused on catchier beats and lyrics designed to be attractive to women.. and Power metal more focused on shredding riffs and tone. You may like either, both, or none of the later entries into these 2 categories. Keep em commin ;) Peace

On a side note.. I wonder what the broadcast rights would cost for a whole album.. I know when my brother's band did a cover of Pink Floyd's 'Have a Cigar' the charge to them was like a dollar per CD. Broadcast rights should maybe be in a similar vein? Dunno. Would be interesting if we could buy, as a group, the broadcast rights for the entire 'Painkiller' or 'Screaming for Vengeance' albums for this channel ;)
