Agreed. And that's the one and only time I've thought that an artist was truly convicted with the crowd banter they spoke out of script mid-song. I assume that was the hardest part of the performance for her - what a shy person and once-in-a-lifetime talent. Something got her out of her shell back in the day thank God - for our benefit and certainly not hers like all great artists, a true gem of a human being. Much respect.

I've always thought that Judith Durham was very underrated as a vocalist. I put her in the same class as, say, Linda Ronstadt, Alison Krauss, and Suzy Bogguss when it comes to vocal purity and voice control (yeah, obviously I'm a country music fan, and Judith is not really a country music artist, although a little bit folky.) I like this solo version of the song, without the Seekers (not that the Seekers' version is not good, too.) Wonderful talent, and a sweet lady.

This lady Judith Durham is one of my single strongest reasons for a belief in god. Aside from having the most beautiful voice I ever heard in my life, she has such tremendous warmth and humility that it is impossible not to utterly love her to bits. There are some things in life that defy rational explanation. The talent of people like Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Mozart, Rembrandt etc. Judith singing talent is so wondrous that I believe it to be a gift of god.
