Garland is considered one of the greatest singers ever. She always gave it all. Every drop was left on stage. And that expressive face.

You’re so right , Danelyah! No auto-tune, just that tiny woman giving the audience everything she had, and she had SO much. I think she was the greatest live entertainer I’ve ever seen. Thanks so much for this great reaction ❤

The other point to appreciate here, is the music. That is an orchestra playing that music, not some sort of canned recording. There's a whole orchestra of musicians back there creating that sound, live.

@@Danelyah_D There is a live orchestra of musicians playing that music that she is singing to. That is Mort Lindsey's orchestra.

She is so very amazing here in this song. Such power and supported by enormous breath control! She holds the last two words " a long" belting out with so very much of her soul (and living out each and every word of the song from the very beginning!!) For nearly 30 seconds!!🙄😳😱🤗💌 She was truly, absolutely the greatest talented singer, actress, live entertainer in the world! Over 30 some movies, over 500 radio shows, hundreds of recordings, not to mention nearly 1500 hundred concerts from 1950 to 1969 that continued up until her death. She also made more than 50 TV appearances including 4 top rated TV specials, 26 hour long shows from her TV series, and many more guest/special appearances etc. 😱🤗😍💌

You didn’t mention it, but if no one else did, can you believe this is the lady that played Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz that everyone has seen back at 17 y.o. Over the rainbow… She’s always had that perfect voice!. And she was very funny woman if you ever watch her on any interview, she’s hilarious. Died much too young and had too much trouble and her poor life because if I start at the studio, so yeah, when they would drive her to lose weight and she always had to take pills for problems after that. Loved her loved her loved her.

It’s funny that you should mention the way she grabbed her hair. Every little thing that Judy did was meant to convey the meaning of the song. She was a consummate artist of popular song.
