Just discovered Judy has passed away which makes me so 😔 I saw her when I was in my late teens in the late 80s in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I had an aisle seat which was a mistake as I laughed so hard I fell out into the aisle. Never laughed that hard since.

When I was a kid, I had her songs memorized. "Cause I'm a Blond" and "Homecoming Queen Has a Gun" (back when that was only a far-fetched idea). I remember a stand up she did where she described her perfect man who turned out to be a bald, beer bellied old dude (probably about my current age) and it was hilarious. She was so totally committed to the joke. It was absurd, but at the same time refreshing because it was kinda nice to hear an average person be appreciated- even though he was being made fun of, too. Judy Tenuna was my favorite comedian when I was a kid. I'll always be a Judy-ist. RIP, Judy.

I remember seeing her for the first time so many years ago- the dropping her voice when she hits the punchline was actually supposed to be some character trapped inside her body, it was the routine. Then it morphed into her leaving out that explanation and just doing the jokes. Anyone else remember that from her early years?
