A few notes for your plans: - Regarding the duck waste and hydroponics, that's usually referred to as "quackuaponics" and it comes with a few caveats. The duck waste needs to be either *mineralized* or *composted*, or it will potentially contain pathogens like salmonella. If you go with the mineralization route, you should add a Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) serum. You can look up "KNF LAB DIY" if you'd like to learn more about how to make it yourself using rice wash and milk. If you go the composting route, worms love wet animal waste that's active with good bacteria, and worm castings and worm tea are a great compliment to microgreens to bolster their size, flavor, and crunch. - Regarding all that brush you're going to rip up: You can utilize it by fermenting all the greens as opposed to just pulling it and disposing of it. You can make what's called "Fermented Plant Juice" or "FPJ" with it. It's a great foliar spray or hydroponic amendment that helps with vegetative growth. It's also a very nutritious feed additive for your ducks provided the thing you're fermenting is safe for consumption.

Thank you for your video. You have a beautiful property with lots of potential as well. I just wanted to comment on the aphid and ant relationship. The Ants protect the Aphids because they put off a sugary substance (honeydew) which the Ants eat as food. So, if you see ants in your garden, sure enough you will see the aphids. That’s been my experience from years in the gardening world.

I’ve gotten my trays today and it’s really coming together in the kitchen now, I’m wondering if I’m gonna have issues with temps in the house but I got myself a thermometer/hydrometer for cheap on cyber Monday, I’m very thankful for all of your information and the encouragement to do this myself. I watched your rack set up video while I set up my own and it really clicked for me that I’m really doing this and excited about it more than I have about anything in a long time.

Since you're thinking about actively heating a greenhouse, I'd like to suggest researching these 4 topics before you build: 1) use an online calculator for greenhouse heating costs... the amount of fuel used will be shocking (note: industrial greenhouses are more efficient than backyard versions because of smaller (wall&roof)-to-floor ratio and insulative materials) 2) walipini style greenhouse (sunken) 3) youtube video "Nebraska retiree uses earths's heat to grow oranges in snow" (geothermal) 4) chinese style passive solar greenhouse (vidoes by Dong Jianyi) Hope this helps. Good luck with your adventure!

Be VERY careful with Bamboo. It needs to be contained, it gets out of control very easily. My brother dug container walls down... thought he had it under control, yet had to have it all torn out 7 yrs later bc it took over and gets in sewer and everything... so please research that first. That was in Washington state. I do love Bamboo, just be careful ❤️ 🥰

Just stumbled upon you through some random video. Your whole thing sounds exciting but seeing this I’m concerned. Please try to keep your non-native plants out of the ground, it’s actually horrific for our natural environment and our natural plant species. This isn’t Asia, this is how we lose our species we have here. Just look up what happened to the American Chestnut tree, it was a huge loss to the natural resources that we had growing around us. There are other native species that would be similarly useful as a resource, bamboo would be a disaster, our native species cannot compete. Hearing how you don’t sell to stores because the stickers aren’t sustainable, bamboo would do a lot more damage than those stickers. Please think about native species for your property.
@DonnyGreens

thats not true at all. bamboo would not be causing any harm. i would be containing it within a barrier and it wouldnt be spreading outside of it....
