We were at Antigone Rising's "Girls Rise" on June 18th at Glen Cove, LI. What a great day! I met new people, was interviewed as part of a panel by Carnie Wilson (Brian Wilsons daughter), and because of that I remembered "Don't Worry Baby" from junior high (we'd just moved here, from Manila!). How important was that song to me? Well, because we were new (I'd just turned 13 when we moved to Sacramento) plus were half-Filipino we weren't, shall I say, accepted right away. How I needed someone to tell me "don't worry" ~ and Brian did! I'd sing that song over and over, and besides that - how about that track? Carol Kaye on bass, Hal Blaine on drums, and by the way it was the B side to "I Get Around." Magical days, magical songs. That was our entre into the pop music world as expressed in N CA, and it was perfect.
(Kristen and Nini, I'm sorry I didn't realize you were trying to sing V 2 ~ I was just trying to keep my head above water! Thanks for everything you do for the girls, and how well you treated me and Ann the entire time. You have a fabulous command structure, I sure noticed that! The best:)) xx
