Some legacy players: “Burn isn’t even good in Legacy anymore” Burn players: “all you have to do is make one mistake and we will punish you”

I grew up in shop that had multiple pros and grinders and we often had 5 round FNM. The whole take it back and the do it right thing was not a thing there. Many hard lessons learned in fnm that made me a better player. Better to learn there than at a Grand Prix.

FNM isn't what I meant, in just testing with people for no stakes except mutual growth and getting better.

Good opportunity, nephisolo. Do you still play there and is there a legacy paper community? I just got back and it's hard to find a paper legacy group.

Delver always feels like one of the most challenging/rewarding decks to play. So many delicious decisions! Looks like I'm going to have to buy a set of bowmasters XD Love all your content, and especially the decision filled tempo or control. Thanks for the great video.

I didn't think you were lol. And I'm almost certainly not playing it at e weekend, but it is my pet deck. Literally have goblin guide tattooed on my back. But you have to count games where you opp makes mistakes because that's exactly what happens in tournaments. Especially early, I'd almost guarantee my opponents will not only make mistakes, but make more mistakes than someone who plays as much legacy as you. Eternal weekend is the ultimate "I only play legacy once or twice a year and this is it" tournament for a lot of people

@@willoneil2092 Either if you end up playing it or not, I wish you best of luck. I often play hard control ponder and shadow decks, so burn is often the bane of my existence, but I'm always ready to cheer on both the underdog and people who love their deck, so I would love to see a good burn player at EW! Imagine, "burn tops8 a big tournament for the first time in..." or maybe even more!

While I adore some Grixis Delver, gotta say. Even bigger fan of the charity push! Not trans myself but really important to help all those folks out there given that, as you said, seems to be a big push to make their lives miserable.

G1G1 there was a lethal line - bolt + mystic sanctuary the bolt does it because sactuary trigger pumps up the murktide funny line, it felt like a chess puzzle :D

This is kinda off topic but why doesn’t the modern adjacent of this deck, izzet murktide, play delver? They both play a similar amount of instants and sorcery, so delver would flip a similar amount of time. Like is the only reason to play delver is because you don’t have access to ragavan but didn’t legacy delver play both when they were legal? Sorry this was kinda ramblely but I really can’t rap my head around it 😅
@BoshNRoll

The tempo decks in Modern are king of inside-out from their legacy counterparts. Legacy it's beneficial with the free permission to stick a threat early and stop the opponent from functioning at all. Modern doesn't have FoW/Daze/Wasteland but it does have Thoughtseize and Counterspell, so it makes more sense to stop them from functioning THEN play a threat. That's why Delver thrives in Legacy and Death's Shadow thrives in Modern.
@jordanrutledge7943

Couple reasons: 1-Brainstorm means you aren’t just relying on spell count to flip delver 2-most UR decks only have room for 8 1 drop creatures and Delver is just not as good as Ragavan or DRC
@Totescolin
10 ай бұрын
Your right the delver is just as likely to blind flip in modern but with Ragavan as the other one drop and the lack of 0 mana interaction you tend to have other things to do on turn 1 in modern.
