You can hear his hurt in his voice as well as in his looks. Because he had such a beautiful voice .R.I.P. Mackey.

Wow, so sad. Such a talented guy with a beautiful voice! I believe I may have met him by chance in the 80's at a nightclub in Waikiki. He came up to me, we talked and he was very nice, but he seemed very sad at the same time! I never forgot that night!! I could be mistaken, but there's something so familiar about him. RIL Mackey 😢

It breaks my heart to see Mackey looking so drawn and struggling with his demons. I remember going to all the Kalapana and Mackey Feary Band concerts when they came to Kauai and this is not the same Mackey Feary I remember. He was always smiling even when we would track them down when they were having breakfast at Tip Top Cafe. LOL those were the days. RIP Mackey Feary!!!!

A legend gone too soon. I'm still listening to his music today in my 50's and started listening to him and Kalapana when I was around 8-9 years old. Such a gentle and humble soul, God takes the good one's first. Rest in heaven always Mackey! Your music lives on forever!!!!

It's 2022 and I'm re-living Kalapana's music. Mackey bared his heart and soul to us through his songs. He had an unmistakable voice and tone. He's singing and flying with the angels. Thank you Mackey, Malani and DJ!! You were a part of history that will live on for generations!!

The only thing I did not like about this group is that they had the best entertainer on the show, always in the back. I don't have to tell you that his sax playing, as well as his dance moves always made my knight, Sir Michael Paulo, the best performer and best entertainer of the group.

This is one of the best sounding vocals of Mackey. I can feel his remorse & “hurt.” Whenever I see these last performances, I look at how he’s dressed & his guitar versus back in the 70s when he was playing on a top of the line Gibson Les Paul. Kalapana was Hawaii’s greatest band & Bruno our greatest talent IMHO

So this song, video is much more meaningful on days like today and especially after seeing "THE HURT- THE MACKEY FEARY STORY BY DANCETTA FEARY". But his story is educational, loving and inspiring. Looking forward to seeing him soon John 5:28, 29.
