Maybe the mother keeps feeding only the latest brood .Fledglings are inclined to try and get others to "help". Wagtails with two brood = a lot Three must be very hard . Kappa has it easy and he's looking well .The young blue rock thrush is amazing . Plenty of water for all and treats for Yuki seems a good plan .Like 32 All is well .I look forward to more :) Many greetings across the miles. Helena :))
Interesting behavior. Chick is Kappa’s but not Yuki’s. Nico just hangs around. Wonder what Yuki’s new mate is doing? Nice to see Wakamaru. So pretty. Hope you can cool off soon although not too cold. 😊

Thank you again for your comments and support 🙇♀️ I still don't know why Nico is with Kappa and whether it is a female or Kappa's new partner. There was another new move on them last weekend. I will let you know in my next video 🥰.
This video is particularly captivating with your storytelling trying to figure out the mysterious situations. That moment when the chick began to shake its wings was so cute... yet Kappa didn't give a sh!t and ate the worm himself. Brutal! 😅 At first I thought Kappa sort of acknowledged it was his chick but because of the relationship with Yuki he decided to ignore it... but then even Yuki ignored it so it must be another couple's chick that ended up in your garden. So funny when it scared itself stepping onto the grass string 🤣 ... and doggo pooping at the right time 🤣

4:43 That's exactly what I am asking! Yeah, that chick could be Kappa's chick with Yuki! Though I have a feeling that chick is an orphan...

Thank you for your comment! I just uploaded my new video and I'll be very happy if you check it out when you have time and let me know what you think.🥰 I thought at one point that this young wagtail might be Kappa and Yuki's, but it turned out that it was not their chick because Yuki is still raising hers. The wagtails hold all their eggs at the same time, and the chicks all become independent from their parents at the same time. At least this young wagtail is a week older than Yuki and Kappa's chick. However, this is assuming that Kappa has not interbred with another female. And I believe that wagtails are monogamous so far!😊
