Back when radio was live and local, and had personality! I miss those days.

1985 was one of the best years for 80's music. There were a ton of hit songs. Don't Lose My Number, Take On Me, Freedom, and more.

I miss the old Super-Q with Johnny Rollins when he would call a listener and you would win a prize if you answered "Super-Q plays favorites". Of course this was years before Randy Miller who I felt had the best morning show ever on Kansas City radio.

Gee. Thanks for posting this Robert Zerwekh. I was born this same year in October and though I’m not from or have ever been to Kansas City, this Q104 DJ Bobby Day was as enjoyable to listen to as some of the music played here.

My buddy's sister used to drive us to school in the morning in 1984 and she was a q104 listener. We were ky102 diehards, so it was somewhat difficult to bare. But now i miss both.

Good ol' Q104 with Bobby Day! This was one of favorite radio stations from back in the day... till they changed genres. Oh well, at least I can reminisce and reflect. Thanks for posting this, Therobz.

The Royal Basement Chuck Nasty is still has a show on 101.3 THE FOX, a classic rock station here in Kansas City. He also does traffic for 94.9 KCMO, the “classic hits” (80s & 70s) station.

I miss the days when Q104 was a pop station. I think in the early '90s it changed to Country music which it has been ever since.

I remember when this was called "Super Q". I attended Van Horn high school, and I so remember getting dolled up for school, which took forever in the late 70s, with the Farrah hair and ALL that make up!! LOL

When there was a good skip, I used to be able to pick up Q104 in Central Illinois. It would have been during this period while I was in high school. Sadly I didn't care for the station very much, since they didn't use jingles.
