Dang Kelly. I love your mom. My mom took care of me, my twin brother, and my older brother after my dad split when I was 11. We were really cold during winter in southern California if you can believe that. I think my mom made less money than yours and you know what? We made it. Thank God for moms who love us.

Click bait title, Graham. He downplayed the unreliable heat and hot water and stated they weren’t dirt poor. Living in FL, how much heat do you need anyway?

Yes I also made money and gambled hard earned cash away. In the stock market. Now I am appreciating the blessing of having money and not squandering it.

Wow, Kelly looked uncomfortable there. A good interview, I would love to pick Kelly's brain on his philosophy to manage money and the best places to read the information on money management.

Didn't know Kelly grew up poor,he's done really well now and has several million now from the money he won surfing.Wouldn't think having no heat would be too bad living in Florida at the time,it's always warm there, not like here in the UK.

Wow. I knew Kelly came from a middle-class background, but had NO IDEA it was a *lower* middle class background (like my own). He's extremely well-balanced in that he can acknowledge the humble circumstances he came from while at the same time pointing out that he had much to be grateful for, other people have had it worse & are homeless, etc etc. Didn't think I could like & respect the guy any more than I already did, but it's just happened. Thank you for being you, Kelly-you're inspiring us in more ways than one.

Repent and Believe in Jesus. Turn from your sin and trust the savior. We’ve all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Trust in Him and you’ll be forgive. God bless

And now he sells sweaters for $150. Guess he’s really made it. Don’t have $10k to surf his wave though. Lame.
