So many people tried doing their own version of this but I couldn't feel a thing then I listen to Roberta Flack sing it again and she just hits the right spot with her beautiful voice...

I watched her live back in 1973. Still don't understand why/how music changed/deteriorated over the years. This kind of wonderful, classy music effectively resides, revitalizes, mesmerizes, hypnotizes, warms, soothes but only for proper minds. Who else's still listening now?

Roberta Flack is celebrating her 85th birthday today, February 10, 2022. She was born in North Carolina on Feb,10, 1937. She is an American singer known for her No. 1 singles "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", "Killing Me Softly with His Song", "Feel Like Makin' Love"; and "Where Is the Love" and "The Closer I Get to You", two of her many duets with Donny Hathaway. Flack is also noted for her influence on the subgenre of contemporary R&B called quiet storm, along with her interpretations of songs by various songwriters, such as Leonard Cohen and members of The Beatles. Flack was the first artist to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in two consecutive years: "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" won in 1973 and "Killing Me Softly with His Song" won in 1974. Only U2 and Billie Eilish have repeated this feat.

Good song which for me proves music forty plus years ago was much better than what is offered now. These songs were meaningful whilst today's songs are merely commercial and probably won't be remembered or heard in about ten or twenty years. But the best is the nice clean words used no ugly four letter words no cursing and no profanities or vulgar expressions.
