The snake played all possible tricks. I am amazed at how the lizard was fighting for its life.

The lizard should try to bite the snake on the head. It's just standing there and waiting for the snake to deliver the killing bite.

I was just thinking that! Are bluetongues especially resistant to snake venom somehow? Was there something wrong with the snake or how it was biting that meant it never got much if any venom IN the Bluey? Who know really... ^^;

Blue tongue lizards have been known to kill snakes. This Brown have have been a bit too big. Generally it is known that if you have 'blue tongues' around your house you won't be worried with snakes.

"Generally it is known" translates to "an old wive's tale claims". Blue tongues are no threat to any but the smallest of snakes.

It injected venom but could not figure out how to kill it or stop it from moving. Notice the blood on the lizard? It was punctured quite a bit. Blue tongues apparently are immune to many snakes venom.

Well after two videos you could have at least chased King brown off & let the blue tongue have a bit of piece n quiet. Maybe his leathery skin saved him but he could have done with a break from the harassment.

John Lee No, King Brown are now called Mulga snakes as the term Brown is misleading in their name. The Mulga snake is actually a member of the Black snake family.

Brown snake fangs are quite small I think that's why the snake was trying to flip the lizard because the skin is a lot softer on the belly and easier to envenomate but that's what I think, I know eastern browns will flip blue tongues.

Brown snakes are extremely dangerous and fairly aggressive venomous snakes and blue tongue lizards are their natural prey. It is actually illegal to interfere with a snake in Australia. It would also be an excellent way of getting bitten by one and dying.
