This is the best video on healing knee pain. I've been suffering from quad tendonitis for over three months now. I had this before back in 2019 but rehabilitated it by doing wall sits (for the reasons you stated), light weight high rep squats at 45° angle, and stretching. But aggravated it again by being on the hack squat. Tonight, I did some light weight squats (deep and parallel but going down and coming up nice and slow) and a couple of sets of light weight walking dumbbell lunges. I will definitely try all four of your hacks to get this left knee back in shape. Thank you so much for this video and your knowledge about this area.

Hey Trav, I finally got a MRI... Results... 1. Full-thickness chondral defect at the posterior inferior aspect of the medial femoral condyle 2. Mild chondral thinning at the central and posterior aspect of the lateral tibial plateau with full-thickness chondral fissuring at the posterior margin 3. Moderate chondral thinning with areas of full-thickness chondral fissuring involving the superior to mid lateral/central femoral trochlea 4. Menisci and stabilizing ligaments of the knee in intact... Trev, I could really use so guidance... I dont want surgery!

Just getting into doing more strength work as an endurance athlete. No specific injuries. Several questions: 1) what is a good ‘go to’ routine for maintaining/developing general athleticism 2) what resources would you suggest for developing a strength program 3) what basic equipment is it best to start with in creating a ‘home’ training space.

@Smashwerx good video. I try and work on similar knee exercises but I am extremely obese and seriously destroyed knees. Hope I can get them in shape and repaired enough to avoid replacements. I was told 10 years ago both needed replaced but with my weight and age I would just need to replace those in a few years and they said at that cycle would be to many so I struggle in pain every day. Even just standing creates a ton of knee pain.

Wow thanks Trev. Came across you on the University of Badassery. Amazing stuff. Played football for 16 years and never missed a game, but took it's toll and I would like be doing ultras when I'm 60 still. Many high sprains on my right ankle, mesicus tear, L5S1 bulge, and more recently knee pain. I'm going to start doing a few different of your exercises to try and identify if it's hip issues or ankle instability causing the knee pain. There's so much content it's almost overwhelming, and love it! If you have any favorites what do you think they would be? Maybe I'll just get an appointment and fly out. ha! Thanks for everything!

I have knee pain for years now (I'm 46). Can't squat anymore (also due to lower back issues). I know all this stuff and tried it. Followed Aaron Horschig's advice on knee recovery as well. He is especially advocating his single leg partials. Excruciating! What works for me best are leg extensions (yeah, yeah, I know!) and single leg squats with perpendicular shins while grabbing a rack. Hip thrusters for glutes.

Dr. T I have been trying to fix my anterior tilt so I was doing your exercises to release the hamstring and other flexor exercises. When I do the hamstring band stretch and place the band on my foot with it pointed i get a massive pain and cramp in my foot when I pull on the band. I have also noticed when I do heavy deadlifts or squats the same thing happens that my foot cramps though usually after I am finished. I am flatfoot and have almost zero arch. I do use orthotics but I don’t wear them when I lift usually. Is there a fix or should I try wearing the orthotics.

When doing a box squat does the box need to be low enough that we get to parallel or just above parallel? I noticed you were just above parallel. Is that ok and still deep enough to build quads?
