I give you a lot of respect for offering alternatives to a product that you actually sell - you don't find this level of integrity very often - thank you

Great video! I prefer mineral oil because it literally cleans off anything on my blade with a microfiber cloth. Plus I have several knives to oil and generally have to clean them up afterwards.

Good video again bro. I’ve tried using cooking oil at my job and have had a non favorable experience with that. So I continue to use my mineral oil which works pretty well. I would say the camellia oil seems to have the longevity that the others aren’t having.

I used canola oil for carbon steel knives once. The oil hardened and turned into a lacquer-like finish. The woe thing was that dust particles stuck to the oil as it dried - it looked horrible

I use engine oil. After an oil change there are much residue inside the bottle, so I dont throw away the bottle and just swipe my finger and apply on my knives. But my knives are not kitchen/food knives so its fine, not sure if Motul 300V is edible, probably not.

Most cooking oils have a viscous- water mix in them making things rancid and also will leave a film. Wood shaves and other tools would be wiped with linseed oil as a protectant, also leaving a varnish like film.

The thing is, Tsubaki oil is not that costly! it costs about $12.00 for 8.3 ounces on Amazon in 1/2022, which is an amount that lasts me YEARS, even using it on my table saw and other shop tools! Used on pocket knives, $12.00 worth should last practically FOREVER. I also prefer the small Tsubaki oil bottle, with its Japanese characters, in my cabinet, to a big bottle of baby oil!

Yes, you only need a drop for each side of the knife basically... it can last a long long time... The only other oil I would consider using is food grade mineral oil... but prefer the Tsubaki oil... don't want any oils that can go rancid...

Camellia oil organic version in the UK 500ml for 17£(if you give a wuff for organic you can get it für 10£ for 500ml) , the oil is betst becourse its not evaporate like many other oils and if it Dosen't have to be for food cutting stuff you can use motor oil, it doesn't go away also.

Ive bought a small bottle of camellia oil and used it on pivots of my folding and multi tool knives. All knives I've applied it was stainless. The thing is it caused a strange form of rust on pivot points. small spots of brownish colour which you can wipe off with your nail or toilet paper. Anyone had a similar issue? When I ask the seller about whether the oil Ive bought contains water or not, they said that its pure cold pressed camellia oil. Im pretty confused at this point

I use Sabitoru rust eraser. It lasts longer than any of those oils you mentioned, and it also does a great job of clean sharpening stones (diamond, CBN, & aluminum oxide). However, it SUCKS at waste removal!!!

Paraffin oil has too low viscosity and is a fire flammable (also know as kerosene and jet fuel) should not be used as other than as a fuel. All the other products are known as white oil and are safe for human and food contact. Baby oil is a lower viscosity with some fragrance added. White oil is also sold as sewing machine oil, Food machinery oil, Honing oil, Veterinarian laxative, and organic bug spray.
