ROASTED!!! I'm a big fan of Jazza too! I ate up every one of Jazza's tutorials but after a few years I was looking for something more like this. (I still watch his videos though 😂) btw I wonder when Jazza will do another tutorial, it's mostly been "let's draws" lately
@blacksheep8534

his tutorials are accurate what do you mean??
@lowenorman8719
7 жыл бұрын
They're not bad or anything, just very very basic. What Xabio was talking about was that Kienans tutorials are a step deeper, and good for the people whose skills are a little more advanced than what Jazza has to offer.

If you like the fact that he's stressing fundamentals even though he's stylizing, I would also recommend Sycra - I think he might even have a stronger sense of fundamentals.

E Lee i know sycra, subbed to him ages ago. I dont know why, but i find kienans tutorials and style of teaching better for me. Idk why tho, sycras gotta be one of the best artists on youtube

They are both really good. I'm wondering whether Kienan watches (or at least knows about) Sycra's stuff since I find a lot of tips and stylistic elements that are similar.

It took me a second too. But the "bad" sketch is messier, and the irises are a bit drifty and derpy.

i actually prefer a messier, less refined look. if the irises were positioned a little better, there's nothing wrong with the first sketch. not bad. just different

In my opinion, a reason why the Danganronpa eyes work well is because the tiny pupils allow to show more of the sclera (white of the eyes) while following the rule that the entire pupil needs to be visible (or else you can't see because the pupil brings in the light to allow you to see) but still do eerie expressions :D.

This sir, was stupendous... I've been working away nail down all of the body and costume aspects of character development, but always avoid working on the faces... This helped so much to really give my character expression and proper characterization. During the video I took a sketch I'd just done and screwed around with the eyes, eyebrows, and mouth... So simple and effective... The "90%" rule will now probably take up 90% of my practicing... XD Cheers mate! ~JP

No I'm in my last year of High school mate and I only learned techniques. Not how to advance them. They say you can do what you want but lets be honest you can't really. Maybe it's different from where you're from. But unless you are already a god at art when you take it, it feels like a waste of a subject. I got an A in it but that doesn't mean anything.

Holy hell you people are incompetent. Yes, the overal shape is a sphere, everybody knows how eyeballs generally look. What's important is the part he's actually talking about. Y'know, the iris? The one that takes the shape of a concave disk within the sphere? And what is well known to have a concave surface? A satellite dish.

Yep, this is totaly a true theory. I had to do this for a character on my graphic novel who has one of those eyebrows that are hardly visible so I have to rely mostly on the eyes to make the expressions for her. I used eyebrow muscles whenever she has an expression when the eyebrows are more down of course but mostly the eyes are the key.
