THANK YOU FOR TEACHIG ME ABOUT CLIPPING & MASKING. I was a fool spending 5-6 hours just for coloring my comics. THANK YOU. Watching your videos the whole duration is worth the time because the things we learn from you saves us hours of time. THANK YOU.

WHAT? I'm here in Utah too! Our weather is wack lol. One time I was carpooling to get to school, and while it was raining at my house, it was snowing less than a mile away at my friend's house...

While other art tutorials tell the artist to just keep practicing and be patient until they get better, you actually give us information that is effective and practical. Thank you SO much. This channel is a treasure.

wow kind of just started coloring here and would sort of already do what you're doing but it feels so much better having you explain it as a technique instead of feeling like i just randomly guessed how this all works...you also blew my mind showing the thing about gradient maps...thanks, will be binge watching all your videos now, SO GOOD!!

Alternative cel shading method that I do I figure out the light base color and go in w/ deep color (depending on the warmth/ tone I want the shadow to be I’ve noticed deep blue is a good go to color for me) on clipping mask. I do all the base colors on 1 single layer and the shadow color on a clipping mask for that the I put the clipping layer on multiply and bring down the opacity to around 70%. Doing it this way for (for me) makes all the shadows feel uniform. I found that when I tried doing a method similar to the one in the video I would have to keep messing w/ the tones and it became a lot more work to keep everything uniform w/ all the different layers. With that being said the method in the video gives a lot more customizable options and is definitely a great explanation on how to do this stuff !! Great work as always ! :D

Man cel shading is like the future art I want to put myself in. However, I'm a modeling artist which uses Maya, Quixel and unreal (will use ZBrush in the future), so won't really "draw" these types of things. BUT this video helped me get the general idea how cel shaders are built. Thanks a lot, Kienan! ^~^

So many 'rules' and 'common sense' stuff for artists who have the opportunity to take art classes are mystifying for some of us autodidacts. :D YEARS of my life were wasted believing reference was 'cheating'. LOL Thanks for the vid!
