Thank you for your honest review😊 I owned a BMW G310GS for two years and changed it for an NC750S. But at last I wanted "a little bit higher" sitting. Power is not what I want. So I bought a KTM 390 ADV. And I made the same experiences as you did in the video. And it is perfect for me on my older days. @@adrianhrusca4067 I am highly suspicious of your intellectual ability. Design process, Research & Development automation & engineering is completely independent and relaibilty of a bike is directly propiortional to that. @RoyMeraki That's not how it works, but if you believe in it, then be my guest. I understand that you have to defend your country in this subject and also what you stand for, but let's not forget reality in the process. Any huge motorcycle brand can engineer a near perfect motorbike, but it can all go to hell during the assembly. If the engineering would be the problem as you say then 100 out of 100 motorcycle would have the very same issue. When it comes to reliability, it isn't the engineering. It is the assembly 98% of the time.

I just sold my T7. That hurt. I bought the 390 and have, so far, really enjoyed my on and off road rides. I was beginning not go down certain paths on my off road rides because of not being able to turn around and possible drops, I ride alone. I'm 65 and weigh 170 pounds, in shape, but I wasn't having fun anymore on the T7. I'm back to having fun with the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure. Great review Pavlin. One more thing, the bike performs really well off road. Low ground clearance if you want to go over a log, but the bike is so light you can get around the log through the woods. Ha.

OK video would of liked it if you learned more about it, I have one in the shop with my name on it. hope to have it in the next couple of weeks, getting the better bash plat and hand guards form KTM put on as well as rad guard and racks for my Givi Trekker hard bags. From the videos I have seen it is very good off road and will cruse all day at 120 Km, also very good with a passenger or loaded for touring but not bough at the same time, I like that you can turn off traction control and 2 settings for ABS Road or Off Road. and adjustable suspension, no other bike in this size and price range comes close, did look at the BMW, 310 but this bike is much more than one step up. I have the Versys 300 X and am trading it for the KTM 390 Adventure I do like the Versys for every thing but highway once you get much over 80 Km it starts to drink a lot of gas and after 90 is rev are to high for my liking, If I keep it at 80 or below great gas millage 400 Km peer tank easy but at 90 it drops down a lot. When you look at what you get on the KTM 390 Adventure there is nothing that can compare, in that size and price range and I have been looking hard, at 72 yr I do not want heavy, and with a inseam of 33" I want to be able to flat foot. You should find one that is broke in and give it a review on paved roads and well as dirt roads and some light trails. That is what this bike is made for, you might want bar risers but KTM has them. After over 55 + years of riding form 50 cc to over 1000 cc road, duel sport, and ADV bike this is a dream come true for me at my age. Also the wind shield is adjustable, but I want it as low as it can go. Love the feel of the wind. Thanks again for this review, I like your reviews, and would really lick you do one on this bike with one that is broke in.

Well ! This is a perfect motorcycle for new young riders, especially ladies. The bike is set up very well, keeping in mind that it is fully manufactured in India by a company called BAJAJ and not KTM. There are a few niggles with the bike and one problem is that if someone tried to take this motorcycle on the off-road or the trails, they will be in for a shock. As the footpegs are stupidly tiled forward, so the rider has no control while saddling and would be standing on the edge of the footpegs. The handlebars are too forward placed. The rider will have to slouch. The frame is straight off the KTM 390 DUKE, so that gives this bike the prefect sitting position but not much to handle in the dirt. Overall a nice bike for novice riders but ceratin modifications will have to be made by the buyers themselves if they want to make it perfect. Last but not the least, the adjustable front suspension is not available for the Indian market, thought the bike is made in India. Now that is a shame !

I did (except the risers because government regulations where i live) and now its quite comfortable, just the knees are alwas rather bent. Depending on where you live and what your budget is a reduced-power version of the older africa twin or tenere 700 might be an option. Sadly I feel the motorcycles that fit people of our statute are almost exclusively 700cc + and rather expensive when new

I normally like your reviews but this one is not really good. You talk a lot about looks (always a matter of personal taste) but nothing about the fuel consumption, wheels for offroad etc. But what is worrying is the misinformation about the size. The KTM390 Adventure Seat is 855mm high where the Tenere is 879. That´s 2 cm. And you can make it higher. But you have fully adjustable suspension and abs/mtc and a nice boeard computer for 6 k.

From what I’ve came to know from from the little research online, Himalayan has feels less powerful when cursing on highways while KTM has less power/torque under 4000 RPM and it lacks the initial punch. I want to buy a bike mainly for touring and my off road usage is very less. I’m from India, so considering the road conditions here and for touring which one do you think is better? Great video and thanks again. One thing most reviews leave out in the seat height. No point even looking into a bike if it is to tall or to short. Just saying. Cheers from Canada.

About your height, am i right in assuming that your comments about the bike size are comparing it to a true ADV bike? personally, I'm really drawn to it because its just a bit more versatile than the duke 390 but its not a full blown ADV boat like these bikes tend to be. how I see it, it still provides more of a involved and raw driving experience like the duke but with some mild dirt and luggage capabilities.

Pavlin! Thanks for the review! I totally agree it is really hard to find a place/dealer to test a motorcycle that you are planning to purchase. I live in Ireland and if you are looking for something not that expensive, most of the dealers will treat you like dirt! I was interested to test GS 310 and BMW told me to freck off! When I mentioned Gs1200 they were ringing me every day... I was interested in that KTM but being 190cm - 115 kg I think I'm going to pass and stick to my TDM 900 for a little bit longer.

@@motorcycleadventures what about 180cm and 110kg and always ride with my 60kg wife (sorry darling), i do not want to go too expensive because it prevents from riding hard. if this one is too small, i probably need the CFMOTO 800MT (using KTM's 790 engine), but as Chinese people I really dont want to buy Chinese bike again... What's your opinion?
@leosedf

It looks beautiful, it seems to be reasonably built and probably nice performing with nice gadgets BUT it looks like it has 1 million places to fail in an adventure. Unless you are in a big city i wouldn't rely on it for long trips to nowhere. Plus i cannot see how this can carry stuff behind it. I'll stick to a versys 650.

I will suggest the market for this bike can be for experienced riders as well. My main ride is a Ducati 1200S Multistrada. I'm 65 and tend to ride by myself. While the Duc (my favorite bike ever) is amazing at eating up miles of asphalt, I'd rather not be stuck in the middle of nowhere, offroad, by myself trying to pick that thing up in less than ideal conditions. That's where the KTM comes in. Just enough power to get me there, and then light enough to deal with in bad situations. I'm not a hardcore enough offroad rider to ride (or need) a KTM 690 Enduro R, or a 500 EXC-F. The rumored 490 ADV from KTM might be more perfect for me, but who knows when that might show up. So this 390 ADV has a lot of appeal to me, (while keeping the Duc, of course).

I nearly bought this bike, I am a return to riding guy living in Cumbria. Using the bike for work, home visits and daytrips round the Lake District and South Scotland, I went with a Honda Cb300r, a pushbike on steroids 😍 Not an adventure bike but perfect for day trips on little rural roads. On riding out with friends, KTM 1290 Adventure and Honda CB500, they comment that I have the better bike for the conditions. Small does work for your adventure 👍

Very well made video! It is a small bike, yes but not only for small drivers. I am 182cm or close to 6ft and I feel completely comfortable spending a whole day on the 390, here I have a different opinion. The more I think this beauty is really capable.. not only for commuting. This bike will pass on when the big ones give w.o. Great option to ride around the globe with it. I would choose this one over a 1290gs for that. But thats me with 60 years, 62kg and lack of experience.

An interesting motorcycle. Nice that you checked the small KTM out. It would be great if you review Suzuki V-Strom 1050 / XT, the successor of great DR BIG. There are quite a lot of opinions on the net about this motorcycle, but I think it would be good to look at it with your eye. This is obviously a piece of heavy machine (247kg), but you have to admit that there is something to look at. Thanks for your work!
