you can drain the oil from the bed out through the breather .....just put the mower in transport position and its the big brass nut at the bottom of the gearbox..........to drain the gearbox it has a allen nut for draining and another for filling .........the draining hole becomes the oil level point when filling ........the operators manual can be viewed on the internet .......

I hear ya! Yes, got the bearings so that's in part 2. Not exactly like I wanted but they'll work. Looks like I'll be buying a new bar next year unless I can find a good used mower. Hopefully that'll put off having to buy another mower for at least 10 years. Sometimes fixing up the old stuff is better than buying the new crap they make now. Thanks for watching!

I know what you are going through with old machines, look like you bar is about shot, new bar might be best bet, i know how high new mowers are, bought mine 3 yr. ago it is a gmd 600 hd it cost 8,000 bucks, if it last like yours i wont need another one. Did you get your new bearing for spindle, all my machines are old except mower, tractor is early 70's baler same rake older than those, but i'm like you keep cobbing up on them to keep them going, i' to old to be buying much new shit.
