@kayto osinuga He was my former Mayor, I'm from Detroit, and no one in my family or inner circle was harmed in any way. At best, many supporters and constituents were disappointed, but not directly affected. The case wasn't even about "robbing the City"... even one of the conspiring judges said that. People are too driven by emotion and the collective negativity of the masses. The lot of the people (not in his administration) didn't lose jobs or sleep over it. He did not fleece the City's budget, nor did it suffer economically. He was rebuilding in a way to fully empower Detroit (this is why they wanted him out). He was forging networks and alliances that brought major growth and development many are now befitting from. Detroit was being revived and uplifted by a black leader, which is the enemy's greatest threat. Do your research. It was apower play to take over the water system. You know absolutely NOTHING about the foul politics behind this case. It was a media frenzy that was terribly biased and grossly mishandled. There were countless legal flaws and outright violation of the law, BECAUSE HE WAS A BLACK MAN. What do you really know, intimately, about the details, other than what the media circus projected? Being upset is mutually exclusive from vilifying or castigating the man when you genuinely have no real idea what truly took place, and neither were you directly or indirectly harmed. It's not up to you to determine his ultimate fate, nor wish ill upon him. Sounds merely personal. It's interesting that folks aren't saying a mumbling word about the nearly 80 other folks granted clemency, who were white, that committed worse crimes. Instead, folks are walking around with a noose still looking to hang THIS man. That others are more deserving should NOT be the focus, that's neither here nor there. I could argue the same point on his behalf and posit that 28 years was not appropriate, seeing that murderers, rapists, and pedophiles get much less prison time than he did. Nevertheless, he's out, mercy knocked at his door, and you should be so careful as to remain in the good graces of it, in kind.

How many white politicians and white-collar snakes get away with what he was convicted of, and even more? That PA is just butt hurt and don't give two spits about the financial well-being of the City or it's minority body of constituents. He is so pretentious!! Corrupt politicians should always receive the harshest sentence available as they are put in a position of the utmost trust. And when that trust is violated, crimes committed, those guilty need to be punished to not only pay for their crimes, but to be a warning. An example for any and all other political figures to think about and remind them what they, too, may be facing if they ever consider doing the same or commit any other crime, violate, disrespect and/or disregard their oath of office they swore to uphold. If more criminals were given this kind of serious prison time, you can bet your ass the crime rate across the country would plummet from the way things are now. If a person doesn't fear the punishment, the punishment won't be an effective deterrent in stopping that person from committing crime. Or crimes in the future.
