师昌绪1945年毕业于西北工学院;1948年获得美国密苏里大学矿冶学院硕士学位;1952年6月从圣母大学毕业,并获得博士学位;1955年-1984年任职于中国科学院金属研究所 ;1978年任中国科学院金属研究所副所长;1980年当选为中国科学院学部委员(院士);1980年-1986年任中国科学院金属研究所所长;1986年2月任国家自然科学基金委员会副主任;1994年任中国工程院副院长 ,并当选为中国工程院院士;1995年当选为第三世界科学院院士(现发展中国家科学院院士);2014年11月10日在北京逝世,享年94岁

Shi Changxu (November 15, 1920 - November 10, 2014) was born in Xushui, Hebei Province. Metallurgy and materials scientist, strategic scientist, member (academician) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and academician of the Third World Academy of Sciences. During his lifetime, he was the honorary director and researcher of the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a special consultant to the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Shi Changxu graduated from Northwestern Polytechnical Institute in 1945; received a master's degree from the School of Mining and Metallurgy of the University of Missouri in 1948; graduated from the University of Notre Dame in June 1952 and received a doctorate; from 1955 to 1984, he worked at the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences; In 1978, he served as deputy director of the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences; in 1980, he was elected as a member (academician) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; from 1980 to 1986, he served as director of the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences; in February 1986, he served as deputy director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China ; In 1994, he served as vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; in 1995, he was elected as an academician of the Third World Academy of Sciences (now an academician of the Academy of Sciences of Developing Countries); died in Beijing on November 10, 2014, at the age of 94
