Pasta alla puttanesca is a cornerstone of the Italian gastronomic tradition, a first course with tomatoes, olives and capers. In my version today there are no capers, which you could easily add. But I preferred to give it an extra touch of flavor by using anchovies in oil. Because? Because the recipe for Pasta alla Puttanesca is "contested" between Campania and Lazio. In Campania they use capers, in Lazio we use anchovies. So here's a mix of both.
In its simplicity of realization, Spaghetti alla puttaniera is a creamy, enveloping and tasty dish; simply mouth-watering!
