This is where they went wrong. They tried to market it as a horror film when it was actually a fantasy film. It was a great film with an amazing story. People just expected something different and that's why they were confused. They pulled the wrong crowd for the film. They lured in horror fanatics when they should've aimed for people who enjoy a good storytelling.

The Village was so ridiculous that it was funny. I saw it at the cinema & during it I whispered to my friend "how stupid would the movie be if it was just a town that was shut off from civilisation & the monster was a human wearing a costume to scare everyone from leaving the town". We both giggled at what I thought would be a silly movie plot, we laughed harder at the end due to what I said being the exact plot 😄
@skalias815

@@erinnfitzgerald6257just because you predicted the ending doesn’t make it ridiculous. The movie is more symbolic than anything about cults in my opinion. Especially cults that use fear based tactics to keep people in. Also why people create cults because in the end we see that all of the founders met in a group for people who were grieving and wanted to create a place were there would be no pain or suffering. This is why people are attracted to cults because they hope something can heal their pain but it doesn’t it just conceals it. On top of that cults also add their own traumas as well, initially maybe the founders had the right kind of desire but they used deception to keep their members from looking elsewhere. Once the main protagonist finds out it was all a lie, the damage is done. It doesn’t matter that they might have been happier in their village, the founders took something important from everyone and that was their own free will to choice if they even wanted to be there. If the village was so much better than the outside world, why does one need to use deception. Anyways I’m ranting but my point is, a movie being predictable doesn’t make it bad maybe it is more about reading between the lines and trying to understand the symbolism behind it.

@@nossasenhoradoo871 So not being seen is inherently the same as being misleading? How then does anything from history have any value at all? I do not concede that this thesis is truthful since it can be disproven by cause and effect reasoning; this is so in that that sight does not equal validity. You cannot see and do not personally have to believe in the existence of gravity, yet if you jump away from the earth, you WILL eventually come back "down" to it dispite this hypothetical and circumstantial belief. Truth and facts are quite literally and indeed never misleading, therefore it IS inherently counter-productive in ANY area of life to betray them, instead falsely paying respects to opinions and subjective perspectives of those who have been proven to be finite or mortal. Also, please take note that none of this is my opinion, but instead only truth, the best and really the ONLY tool for legitimate persuasion. Other rather important facts should certainly also include that whether you believe Jesus Christ is who he said He is, it historically still has yet to been proven that He did NOT rise from the grave, as well as the fact that the Holy Bible (Old and New Testaments) are still the most published works on earth. But please, keep seeking truth.❤👍

@@nossasenhoradoo871 That is purely your opinion, for it is a factually impossibility to actually read/fully know someone else's mind, so that too is a falsehood. Also, thanks so much for replying.👍 Another important fact to consult while thinking about people's minds is that we cannot will things into existence, things such as matter, time, space, e.t.c., we can only influence or manipulate them. So we are, by our nature, limited, yet also possess free will to make choices. This reality existing along side the existence of purpose or truth in life then must certainly mean that there is an ultimate truth that we can find, yet we are NOT the source for this ultimate truth or morality. We cannot actually mentally understand all that the concept of "eternity" really means, but we are ably to seek it. Many blame Christianity because of Christians, which is fair towards the flawed Christians who are by their nature limited, yet it is indeed NOT fair to Christianity. If someone fails to follow a faith, it is not that faith's fault, but the individual. So holding up the immoral actions of some individual Christians is also a falsehood for disproving Christianity.

Besides, Bryce Dallas Howard performed well with her role as Claire in both Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Paul Giamatti took the role of Alexei/The Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and I support most of the memes from the original Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies. I will probably be having fun expressing memes during my experience with watching this movie. I'm not sure how many fans of Lady in the Water are around in these current times, but I hope to bring inspiration, confidence, and support to others who are positive about the movie. Time and time again his movies are marketed as scary when they’re anything but. This one in particular is goofy as hell, like a kid’s movie.

It’s funny this movie trailer used to scare me as a little kid but rewatching it as an adult isn’t that bad

This movie is sooo effing good and I can't believe people who dogged it. It's a fantastic story. M.Nights movies are pretty great. I wish I could meet him and be in one of his movies.

FINALLY after 14 long years of wondering what is the tittle of this movie that hunts me since I was 13 yrs old( the first time I watched this movie)... since then I had wild flashbacks, memory bits about this but I just cannot remember where and it is until now... 12-21-2020 age 27.. out of boredom I decided to Google 👉🏻 movie about a woman hiding in swimming pool👈🏻 VIOLA 🎻 I'm here now I can download this movie and go on with my life without being bug anymore about the weird flashbacks I used to experience 👌🏻Sweet 😅😂

I remembered other movie different than this but they have a similar character that always covered in water and a ghost. I don't know anything about this movie, but i kept searching that movie and never found it. I remembered watching it when i was a kid and i think the movie had a series too and not a horror movie.
