In other words, “Girling is Sterling.” Aftermarket rubbish needs to be chucked over the neighbour’s fence. 😉

I was surprised how many variants of internals there were! Still bolt on the same but impossible to get repair parts

@@BritannicaRestorations normaly you change just the seals, grease everywhere especially where the cylinder runs. doing this every 4 or 5 year you will be fine- the problem is maintenance backlog like always

Mike, I learned from my old Dad, he told me, "never throw anything away before it's completely broken", you never know where or when you could need to use that bit of "junk" to keep something going. Oh Boy! Did I have some junk to get rid of when we moved house three years ago.

I love your videos and they help me out tremendously but I have a question and I know this is off topic but what is your opinion of the hub centric 30mm ManTec wheel spacers? I want to widen the stance in the rear of my high cap and not change the factory wheels.

Wheel spaces push the centre line of the bearing out. The rule of thumb is the centre of the tyre should be between the taper bearings in the hub. I no longer fit or suggest spacers

So you cannot reseal a britpart master cylinder? Had one that never worked from new, had to keep re-bleeding it every few days, changed it for another britpart one I had laying about, and all was fine. Kept the original Girling one, as I have no faith in the cheap ones, but was thinking of resealing them..

Like I said, there is only the Girling rebuild kit available - there is no guarantee that the aftermarket ones use the same internals!
