More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish), can speak a bit of sicilian, russian and dutch, and has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). She was raised in sicilia first then in Belgium so she speaks both french and italian as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary and the song you just reviewed is from this concert. But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar thru her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. He covered many of her songs (that she performed originally ; she also wrote some of these). Out of my mind I can list: ○ Adagio, ○ Mademoiselle Hyde, ○ Know/Vocalise/Ascolta La voce ○ Love of tired swans She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ». And she covered « Love is like a dream » before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva). They also performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy who came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs: ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie, Know), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow) ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you) ○ .... Today, she still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature. In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada. Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.

Same thing Barba and Lara for me. Barbra in terms of Global success (Voice + contributions to film, Broadway and music /recording industries. Lara in terms of voice + musical talents/giftedness/total package. Both of them have the same vocal qualtiies, clean, clear and pure, that is magnetic in nature. Why I admire Celine the most compared to Mariah and Whitney is that what you hear on her studio recording its the same (even a little better) during live performances. meaning (the others) their recording company enhanced it, to have a better quality.. We have similar observations. As for Celine Dion being the Ballad Queen, I tend to disagree. First Celine has limitation when it comes to conveying emotions for example her rendition of the song "Alone" by Heart she came in short Her voice was stunningly beautiful BUT the emotional substance needed in that song aint even at the level of the original. For me, Laras voice suites Ballads songs, She has a thick, deep voice and impregnates that with raw emotions masterfully. and vocal power to project it to the audience. And when you have a thick voice and you go for a high note/belt it does not pierce the listeners ears. Thats the problem of Celine She has a thin voice, when she goes for a high note/belt and injects power to it, theres that tendency of piercing the listeners ears a bit. Celine Vocal qualities are at best when singing pop mellow songs like "That the Way it is", "Beauty and the Beast" and " I Surrender".

“Je suis Malade” was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …). When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours. The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, but a few months after, Dalida covered it and brought it to fame. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad. But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s. At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet. They became good friends. Lara has made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power and Serge Lama adopted these in his later interpretations. This 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal) is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries. The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella.

LARA with links: Lara Fabian is a Canadian of Belgium birth and Italian/Franco/Flemish cultural heritage. Lara spent a decade in a Brussels Conservatory studying piano, composition, and voice. Lara is a full lyric soprano with a vocal range that spans three octaves (A5, B4, BB4, C3, C5, C#5, D5, E5, EB5, F5, F#5, G5) in live performances. She is multilingual; in fact, she speaks Italian, French, Spanish, and English and has sung in 12. Lara, who describes herself as a songwriter/singer creates a high level of emotional connection with the listener. She has a discography of over 400 songs, has sold over 30 million records, and plays to sold-out venues worldwide. She lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, with her husband and daughter. A “50 at 50” - fifty live performances celebrating her 50th birthday had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 but has been rescheduled as “The Best of Lara”. The reason why I’m a ‘fan’ is her high level ‘EQ’ emotional intelligence expressed in the text of her songs. Are you two using subtitles? Yes, you get all the emotion without them, but you need to read lyrics with performances to really experience how incredible the performance is. The lyrics are intense. Here they are: I'm sick I no longer want to live my life My life ceases when you go away I no longer have a life & even my bed Turns into a platform of station When you go away I’m sick , completely sick Like when my mother used to go out by night & When she left me alone with my despair I’m sick , perfectly sick You come , I never know when You go again , I never know where & It’s been two years soon That you don’t care Like to a rock , like to a sin I’m clung to you I’m tired , I’m worn out To pretend I’m happy when they are there I drink every night but all the whiskies Have the same taste to me & All the boats carry your flag I no longer know where I should go , you are everywhere I’m sick , completely sick I pour my blood down over your body & I’m like a dead bird while you sleep I’m sick , perfectly sick You’ve deprived me of all my songs You’ve emptied me of all my words Though I used to have talent before your skin This love kills me & if it continues I will die alone with myself Next to my radio like a stupid kid Listening to my own voice that will sing I’m sick , completely sick Like when my mother used to go out by night & When she left me alone with my despair I’m sick , that’s it I’m sick You’ve deprived me of all my songs You’ve emptied me of all my words & My heart is completely sick Surrounded with barricades , listen , I’m sick

The edge of her status is that she is connected to the vocal trinity (historically speaking) at the same time somehow separated (not a member of the trinity/its not vocal quartet yet). I like the beauty of the irony of it. The members of the vocal trinity are full pledge Divas., the 4th Voice is a transcendental star, possessing immense talents/giftedness/total package rarely seen or like no other. the rare breed of SUPER DIVA. There is a separation between them (the vocal trinity) in that department. I grew up admiring Celine Dion (The most,) and the other two (least), but I never let my biases take over me. I give credit where credit is due. For example songwriting skills.........more than 150 songs composed and written in 4-5 languages. (she is a polyglot- French, English, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese), and a lot of her French songs were in the form of poetry. She writes songs for other artists/singers too. She plays the piano and had a piano solo in her album. kzitem.info/news/bejne/qnh7mp2ohXmLppw and vocal solo.(Vocalise) kzitem.info/news/bejne/rm2F2XuLk3ySh44 3) She owns the stage and her performances are epic.. 4 She is the perfect example of the singer becoming the song. and her emotional delivery is unmatched. 5) She was trained in classical music. 6) At the age of 21 she created her own record label, produced her album/s and marketed it personally. (just to survive, sink or swim)7) Artistry- she will do a different rendition of the same song every time she performs on stage. Here is another rendition of the same song (Je Suis Malade)........I have never seen anything like that the ending part, kzitem.info/news/bejne/o39s36d5h2Z0jGU and the list goes on. Just take a dive into her history/background. its worth it. Her BLUEPRINT is the path to Mastership at all levels. That is why aspiring singers/vocalists are drawn into her they tend to follow/copy her Blue Print. (like Dimash) In a deck of playing cards of singers, she is the "hidden" Ace of Spade.

@@RNTV You are most sir/maam. If you plan to make a reaction to the top Divas of their generation someday, I suggest you react to their performances in the World Music Awards. All of them performed there (Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lara and Monica Naranjo(Spanish "killer" Diva or "Diva Killer?),once, twice or multiple times.. One of the advantages of that is that the artists/singers do not have control of the recordings, and thus you would be able to listen to their natural voices. (note studio recordings or concert recordings are sometimes enhanced or edited (by the recording company) to give better quality. Among the five Divas who performed there, 2 got a standing ovation. One at the end of her performance, the other 2/3 or 3/4 of the way before the end of her performance. The audience started to rise from their seats and render a warm round of applause. Worth watching, discussing and comparing how all of them performed..

*Virtual duet (Honestly, no matter how skillfully done & entertaining one is, I am only a fan of virtual mash-up "duets" _after_ I experience the original solo interpretations of each performer. Then I can enjoy the virtual duet for the skill of the person compiling the footage. It kind of makes me feel disrespectful to each artist if I don't experience & absorb their carefully chosen, solo-staged interpretations first, you know?)

Great reaction. Welcome to the greatness of Lara. You said that this was not the type of music that you are used to listening to. I'm a 72 year old former musician and hard rock and heavy metal fan my whole life. I stumbled upon Lara watching reaction videos about 7 months ago and she literally changed my taste in music. Been listening to her almost exclusively since then. There is a lot of content of hers on You tube that you will enjoy. As Roimer Lopez alluded to, all of her live performances are perfection. Just subscribed to your channel with the hope that you will keep reacting to Lara. I enjoy seeing people hearing her for the first time. It is quite an experience.

A bit less fun is that Celine and her staff are the one that pressured Sony to keep Lara out of US market But yes she went over, said this is the "name of the game", and is still a fan. She said she would love to sing a duet with Celine. Many sources say Celine is very jealous of Lara and this is a fact Celine never talks about Lara, even when incented to do so.

Thank you for your response....appreciate it. If your video ended there, than there are other versions of the same performance that run longer and show more of what Lara is really about in terms of her emotion, the state she transcends into for the performance, as well as the audience interacting with her as she is almost seemingly in a trance as she comes out of the song. Again, thank you and please I am in no way meaning to be critical, I simply offering thoughts on a Lara first time listener..(lol) and look forward to watching future reactions. Thanks and be well

Lara is in a class by herself. You guys should really check out the version with the English translation so you can really feel how sad and dark this song really is. Jess you mentioned several names on your all time greats list. Please listen and react to two names that could be creeping up on the list. First would be Morissette Amon. Check out "Never Enough" on the WISH bus 107.5. There are many people who feel she did it better than the original. Then "Akin Ka Na Lang" from the same Wish bus. You will not be disappointed. Make sure your captions are on on Akin so you can fully understand her joy. Second up is Angelina Jordan. She won Norway's Got Talent at age 7. Start with her incredible rendition of "I Put A Spell On You" at 9 yrs. old. Next up should be her America's Got Talent audition of Bohemian Rhapsody. Both these artist tend to take people straight down the rabbit hole but it is a pretty good place to be. Please don't just believe me, ask your subscribers. BE WELL

If you enjoyed Lara then watch TI AMO COSI, where she sings with Garifulina And DIMASH. best trio I have listened to . When Lara heard DIMASH sing Adagio, she was so amazed she sent message to him she wanted to sing a duet with him. On Dimash's 24th Birthday she sent a video of a small one candle cake and her singing happy birthday to him. It is great to see the admiration that she and Dimash have for each other in Ti Amo Cosi, in Italian. Plus you get to hear DIMASH singing in a deep voice.

Translated from I'M SICK ( JE SUIS MALADE ).. I don't dream anymore, I don't smoke anymore I don't even have a story anymore I'm dirty without you, I'm ugly without you Like an orphan in a dormitory I don't want to live my life anymore My life ends when you leave I don't have a life anymore and even my bed Transforms into a station platform When you walk away I'm sick Completely Sick Like when my mom went out at night And she left me alone with My Despair I'm sick Perfectly sick You'll arrive, you never know when You go, you never know where And it's going to be almost two years You don't give a damn As to a rock, as to a sin I'm hooked on you I'm tired, I'm exhausted To pretend to be happy when they're there I drink every night, and all the whiskeys To me, taste the same And all the boats carry your flag I don't know where to go You're everywhere I'm sick Completely Sick I pour my blood into your body And I'm like a dead bird When you're asleep I'm sick Perfectly sick You robbed me of all my songs You drained me of all my words However, I had talent Before Your Skin This love is killing me, if it goes on I'll die alone with me Near my radio, like a dumb kid Listening to my own voice that will sing I'm sick Completely Sick Like when my mom went out at night And she left me alone with My Despair I'm sick That's it, I'm sick You robbed me of all my songs You drained me of all my words And my heart is completely sick Surrounded by barricades Can you hear? Those very special artists can bring some "hidden" true caracteristics, especially emotional ones, to surface. (How could someone remain "cold" or even superficial...?) Could this be one of the reasons why Jess enjoys this journey so much...?lol... (Artists like that are able to trigger some very profound traumatas..., then you cry, you don't know really why..., and then you feel so released and in a way "cleaned" of some profound pain, and then you feel so good and so happy and thankfull.....) It is for good reasons that many Dimash songs are used in psychological therapies... and with incredible positive effects... (Information (p.ex. singing, but also doing some research on an interesting matter...) is one of the best healing processes for mental problems, per example depression...)🤔May God guide us all...

A few years ago there was ( and still is ) a 4 male crossover harmony group from South Korea called “Forestella”. When they performed their first song the classic Freddy Mercury “ Bohemian Rhapsody” it catapulted them to international stardom and now they have millions of followers worldwide. They recently performed “ le suis malade” and altho Lara Fabian popularized it, ( and her version is still my favorite solo performance). But OMG with Forestella its like Lara Fabian 4 squared! Like pentatonix one of the Korean vocalists has a very deep bass/baritone voice. Another, a high operatic voice, and the other two group members (who were also solo performers at one time in their careers) together it is a confluence of total passion performed live on stage in front of thousands of their fans. Beyond amazing emotional performance. Some of their other songs I recommend are Simon & Garfunkel classic “The Sound Of Silence”, and Guardian “ Angel” that will lift your spirits and transport you to another world-especially during these troubled covid times. All love to all, Al
