If the Boston Celtics had Len Bias on their roster in 1987, they would've won the NBA championship back-to-back!

Brad Daugherty on the Celtics would have been insane. It is remarkable that Daugherty averaged more than 4 assists per game as a center. He had some good range on his jumper too. In today's game he would probably have developed a decent 3PT range.

Daugherty was so underrated, we are talking about one of the more gited centers of all time, if he only didn't have all those back injuries
@Lewis.Alcindor
4 жыл бұрын
Based on the footage I watched, he wasn't particularly underrated. His defense was basically non-existent. He was essentially a taller Enes Kanter: skilled and prolific scorer, and a sure-handed rebounder, but a total minus on defense.
@crownprincesebastianjohano7069
2 жыл бұрын
@@Lewis.Alcindor Enes Kanter? Skilled and prolific as a scorer is an understatement, many consider only Hakeem to have had the better offensive skill-set for a center. On a different team where he would have been the undisputed No. 1 option, and not have many of his boards taken up by great rebounders in Nance and Williams, he would have put up the same offensive numbers as Ewing and Hakeem and been a 26-28 ppg, 11-13 rpg guy. He was also one of the best passing big men in NBA history, average 4+ assists per game twice.

Birds attitude toward Bias was a little strange. It was almost like he was talking about a competitor. Bird knew how great Bias was. You would think he would have talked about what a great loss it was knowing Bias would have extended the Celtic Dynasty. If you saw Bias in college, he was WAY better then Daughtery. It was the difference between a very good star player and a potential super star, who would have been Jordans chief revival. Bias had 'it all'...

mikem987 true but it's 30:years of breaking down what ifs having the best team ever then adding Bias!? then never playing with him ever answering questions year after year. Now you're retired seeing how the game went and start to thinking man if we just got anybody Brad Daughterty anyone we maybe extend our run injuries etc. most people who talk about Bias as the best overall player that year in college not just Big Man. at #1 maybe Red go big with Walton being your bench guy but Bias was the pick then losing Reggie Lewis another ALL star come on man give Legend a break here

I agree but don't forget that Daugherty is a 7 footer and Bias was a small forward. In my opinion B.D was one of the best centers ever. At the same level with Robert Parish, Pau Gasol, Kevin Love and Alonzo Mourning. If he had a longer and without serious injuries carrer he would have been a dominant center like D.R, Hakeem and Pat.Ewing!

@James Robert A player who avg at his career 19 points 10 rebs and 4 assists with 7/13 2pa and 53% and who was selected to play in 5 all star games (His career in NBA lasted for only 8 seasons) I guess that he is not an avg player.As a COLLEGE player Daugherty was one of the greatest big men ever to play at the University of North Carolina. He entered college as a 16-year-old freshman and was a two-time All-ACC first team selection, and a first team All-American in 1986. He was named to the ACC 50th Anniversary men's basketball team in 2002 and was inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame.
